SAMA-SAMA HOTEL KL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT A SHOWCASE OF MALAY ARCHIPELAGO DELIGHTS THIS RAMADAN WITH SELERA WARISAN NUSANTARA

April 26, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

For many, heading down to a Ramadan food bazaar to experience a wide variety of food from a range of stalls has become the norm and also an adventure.

However, for those who want to get away from the crowds, Sama-Sama Hotel KL International Airport is the place to go for some street dining overlooking flying planes from nearby Kuala Lumpur International Airport, sans the smoke.

Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA is offering a Buka Puasa spread in its ballroom foyer and porte-cochere beginning 18 May. When it comes to breaking the fast, nothing is more important than the food on the table, and Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA team of culinary professionals have outdone themselves. Themed, Selera Warisan Nusantara, it is inspired by hallmarks from the Nusantara (Malay Archipelago). Diners can only expect the best street food experience when entering the ballroom foyer only to be greeted with light traditional Ghazal music as the performance by Suara-Suara Otai troupe accompany the crowd daily.

Diners can select from Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA generous stall setups and dedicated live cooking stations. Led by Executive Chef Ahmad Farhan Noorzali and his team have invested their combined years of gastronomic knowledge to ensure every Ramadan meal is nothing short of spectacular.

Starring a well-rounded mix of traditional local delicacies from the Malay Archipelago, this exquisite buffet spread is passionately put together throughout the holy observance month of Ramadan, with different menu variety every day.

Diners are invited to open up their Buka Puasa with sweets at the Kurma stall featuring dates such as Ajwa, Mariami, Mabroom and Safawi. After that, start the journey through the hotel’s Malay Archipelago inspired stalls with Indonesia and feast on the rich flavours of Javanese Nasi Ambang. Take a stroll in Singapore and enjoy their signature Clay Pot Chilli Mud Crab.

Don’t forget to come to Thailand and get a taste of the country’s most beloved street food dish, Goi Pad Krapao. Most importantly, enjoy the delights of Malaysian local street dishes like Red Snapper in Okra Curry and if one feels adventurous, try your luck on the Beef Cooked With Bird’s Eye Chili.

Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA took it to the next level as the hotel erected a pangkin, an elevated platform usually seen in kampungs, creating a quintessential kampung-style al-fresco dining for diners, all in the confinement of a hotel. Besides that, diners can truly get the feel of street-style atmosphere with the mix and match plastic stools as part of the hotel’s Ramadan Buka Puasa setting.

Venture outside to the porte-cochere, diners can feast to a carousel of live cooking stalls such as Satay, Ikan Bakar and Indian Tandoori stall. The best highlight would be at the barbeque stall which features Street Kambing Golek that is served with sauce choices of Black Pepper, Mushroom, BBQ and Rosemary.

Sweet tooths will also find a wonderful display of scrumptious treats. The dessert stalls feature homemade Black Forest Cake, Apam Balik, Rojak Buah, Malaysian desserts such as local signature flavoured shaved icees, Ice Kacang, Ice Cream Kampung, Ice Cream Potong and many more surprises, all rounded off diner’s choice of Sama-Sama Hotel KLIA soothing local Kopi Tarik or Teh Tarik.

And for all King of Fruits enthusiasts can crack as many durians at the Durian stall. Don’t forget to soothe the heat down cracking some fresh young coconuts or sugar canes at the live beverage stalls.

The Selera Warisan Nusantara fast-breaking buffet is available all throughout the season from 6:00PM to 10:00PM. Priced at RM135nett per person on weekdays and RM99nett per person on weekends, the culinary brigade at the hotel also offers group bookings of 50 persons and above or Ramadan banquet.  This will be allocated in the hotel’s various function rooms for a more private and affectionate dining affair with family and friends or business associates.
