The Ministry of Tourism & Culture and Tourism Malaysia Penang has partnered with Penang Tourist Centre and had launched the ‘Travel Privilege Card – Penang’ (formerly known as Museum Adventure Pass), a do-it-yourself tour of Penang’s many tourist attractions.
The Travel Privilege Card will guide tourists to tourist attractions around the state of Penang, and this special card can be bought to provide discounts on entry fees, food and beverages, transportation, accommodation, gift shops and many others. It aims to educate tourists on Penang’s multitude of attractions, as well as encourage tourists to include them as part of their itinerary.
State Tourism Development Committee chairman YB Danny Law Heng Kiang said the guide would include more museums that come up in the future, and the pass was the first of its kind in the country.
The special Travel Privilege Card will be on sale for RM20, providing up to 20% discount at over 100 outlets. It is transferable with validity for one year.
This DIY trail is part of the government’s initiative to highlight Penang as an exciting tourist destination, and in conjunction with the Visit Penang Year campaigns which begin in 2015 until 2017.
