HUA TING STEAMBOAT: CANTONESE STEAMBOAT AT ITS FINEST

November 29, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant opens its much anticipated Steamboat restaurant on the mezzanine floor of Claymore Connect, the former Orchard Hotel Shopping Arcade. Starring an extensive menu of over 150 dishes and 8 soup bases at affordable prices, the warm and friendly atmosphere is expected to draw crowds from nearby offices, residences and gourmands who appreciate the simple pleasures of cooking super fresh ingredients in lovingly homemade soups good enough to enjoy on its own!

Without compromising quality and taste, Hua Ting Steamboat takes the competitive hotpot dining scene to a new level by using only premium ingredients to create flavourful soup bases. The restaurant offers a variety of base flavours for your steamboat, conveniently grouped under traditional, nutritious and chef’s creation. Each soup base is meticulously prepared fresh daily from scratch and painstakingly simmered for hours. Some of the highly recommended flavours are Tomato Soup with Century Egg & Coriander, Shark’s Bone Cartilage Soup with Fresh Bean Curd Sheets and Sea Treasure Flambé.

Diners with local taste buds are not forgotten; Bak Kut Teh soup base will come as a pleasant surprise on the menu under chef’s creation. The man behind the local spin to the steamboat flavours is our newly-appointed Hotpot Chef Desmond Wooi, who will be leading the kitchen. Quipped with more than 10 years of culinary experience, Chef Desmond takes pride in what he does best, bringing quality steamboat experience to diners.

Each steamboat pot comes with two separate compartments for diners to enjoy different soup bases. While waiting for the soup to boil, diners can indulge in a heavenly spread of homemade starters to whet their appetite. An open kitchen allows diners a first-hand view of live seafood being freshly prepared.

During lunch time, diners can also opt for a quick and convenient lunch set menu affordably priced at $26 per person. The lunch set features a hotpot ‘Gan Guo’, also known as casserole, which is a contemporary twist from the traditional style of Cantonese steamboat. Served cooked, diners can immediately tuck into the hotpot such as Spicy Chicken; Kurobuta Pork Belly; and Sea Perch. Then the soup bases are added to complete the meal with assorted mushrooms, vegetables and noodles. Finally, round up the meal on a sweet note with our homemade dessert of the day.

Dinner set menus are also attractively priced at $48 and $58. Mix and match tasty soup bases with choice of succulent meats, fresh seafood, handmade meatballs and assorted greens. With a selection of the freshest and finest ingredients, flavourful soup bases and a wide variety of condiments to choose from, guests will be spoilt for choice.

Donning a contemporary and fresh look with an elegantly casual ambience, Hua Ting Steamboat has two private dining rooms on top of its seating capacity for 60 persons. The restaurant is open daily for lunch from 11.30am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5.30pm to 10.30pm. Located in the heart of Orchard district outside CBD, Hua Ting Steamboat is a perfect hot-spot to enjoy great value premium quality steamboat with your business partners or loved ones!
