NEW MENU @ HANA DINING + SAKE BAR (花酒蔵), SUNWAY PYRAMID

October 13, 2015 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review 20 Comments

Hana Dining+Sake Bar 花酒蔵 is one of the nice restaurant to visit when you are in Sunway Pyramid. Located near Kim Gary, the restaurant brings you with not just sake, cocktail or beer but they have a decent area for a good homely Japanese food as well. They had recently released their new menu where you will be definitely pampered wth their delicious menu where you will able to find uniquely chef creation.

It is my third time visiting the restaurant and I love the food there. Hana means 花 (Flower) in Chinese. It symbolize the variety of choices in their menu. There are more than 160 dishes in Hana Dining’s menu. Sake means酒 (Alcohol) in Chinese and in Hana you will find a variety of sake blend and in house made cocktail there. While , 藏 means a cozy environment in the restaurant, indeed it is where it brings you with the cozy feel and great service.

HANA NEW MENU
Chef Olic tuna marinade (RM25)
We started with the Chef Olic tuna marinade where the dish is specially marinated by Chef Thomas using Olive oil, garlic and special seasoning. It taste like “Char Siew” with a melt in your mouth texture and is made from White Tuna fish. The dish is amazingly well done where every mouthful is just simply good.
HANA NEW MENU
Crispy Salmon skin salad (RM25)
As it’s dish name says all, the fresh greenies is well served with the crispy salmon skin and top with the lovely citrus and sugar, this make the salad perfect. Jusr as good as it should be !
HANA NEW MENU
Engawa Temaki (RM 15 per piece)
Engawa which is commonly known as fluke Fin is wrapped together with the sushi rice together with the fresh crispy seaweed with it.

HANA NEW MENU

Fresh oyster with ponzu sauce (RM 17.50 each)

HANA NEW MENU

Fresh oyster in spring vinegar sauce (RM 17.50 each)

HANA NEW MENU

Oven baked fresh oyster with Japanese special creamy sauce (RM 17.50 each)

For oyster lover don’t missed the huge pluppy oysters where you can served them with three choices. Either with the ponzo sauce, spring vinegar sauce or even you can have them baked and topped with their Japanese Special Creamy Sauce. The oyster which is served comes simply fresh and juicy.
HANA NEW MENU
Hawaiian Shake Harasumaki (RM33)
A dish with had captured my heart once a bite. Eddie Beh (owner of Hana) says:” The dish need to be consumed in 3 minutes from the time it served”. Yes, true enough the dish is indeed so appetizing and brings you with the melts in the mouth sensation. The salmon, cucumber slice, ebiko and fried tempura prawn is well wrapped with the seaweed, bringing you the crispy, moist, and juicy flavours. Nice.
HANA NEW MENU
Grilled English cut lamb in ponzu sauce (RM 38)
The lovely portion of lamb is thinly sliced and grilled till perfection. Served together with the citrus base soy sauce. The dish come amazingly good with the moist and juicy texture. Nicely done!
HANA NEW MENU
Deep fried pumpkin tofu ( RM8/pc)
This is indeed something unique and is one of Hana Signature dish. The pumpkin tofu is indeed a hard work for the chef to prepared and it is lightly fried creating a thin layer with a light trace of bonito sauce. Wrapped within the tender layer of pumpkin tofu are shrimp and ginkgo. It brings you a soft texture and complete with a delicate taste. Nice one.
HANA NEW MENU
Tosa agedashi tofu (RM 7.00)
Brings you with the moist tofu texture and topped with generous portion of bonito flakes with it.
HANA NEW MENU

The Salmon Belly is indeed well cooked in the miso stock till the soup become flavourful. The pot of soup is sweet and flavourful with the nice salmon meat with it.

The Mochi is indeed a nice one uniquely prepared and something sweet to end our delicious meal.

I’m quite picky when it comes to food as in no beef and not a lot of red meat please! Therefore, I don’t have much choices on the menu when it comes to Japanese cuisine. But the oysters here look lovely.
