“CITRUS AND HONEY” AFTERNOON TEA BUFFET AT CAFÉ ALLEGRO, REGAL KOWLOON HOTEL

January 15, 2015 By StrawberrY Gal - Food News 1 Comment

People suffer from cold and sore throats easily during the cold weather and dry climate. In view of this, our Executive Chef Ray Lam has specially incorporated into our menus two seasonal ingredients: Citrus and Honey. Presenting “Citrus and Honey” Afternoon Tea Buffet at Café Allegro for your good health. Citrus fruits contain Vitamin C and citrus acid, which can quench the thirst, reduce fatigue and boost immunity. Honey is a natural treasure with minerals and amino acids to soothe the throat and replenish stamina. The magical combination of two will surely help you to combat a cold.

The best-pick of our dishes include the following: Citrus Crab Salad, Spicy Avocado and Red Grapefruit. By adding fresh grapefruit into the classic avocado and crab meat salad, the slightly sour grapefruit can stimulate your appetite and further enhance the sweetness of crab meat. Mixed Citrus Salad with Feta Cheese, Onion and Mint which uses fresh orange as a base, mixes it with Greek feta cheese and onion, and followed by the dressing made from fresh mint and orange juice. The fragrant mint will add extra aroma on the rich cheese to provide a flavoursome dish. In the Grilled Pepper Tuna with Honey Vinaigrette, the thick tuna fillet will only be lightly seasoned with black pepper and grilled to crisp. The sweet and sour honey vinaigrette then enriches the flavour and complements the medium cooked tuna slices. For the main dishes, the Deep-fried Beef Brisket with Lime and Grapefruit Sauce will be firstly slow cooked to retain the juice of the beef brisket and then deep-fried to cover it with a crunchy crust. Dipping it in the citrus sauce made with lime and grapefruit juice will give you an incomparable delight. For Roasted Chicken Drumsticks with Honey and Lemon, the chicken is thoroughly coated with lemon juice and honey, and roasted to absorb the tasty sauce, making it an irresistible treat you shouldn’t miss.

The feast cannot be completed perfectly without the delicious desserts. Mouth-watering recommendation includes Dark Chocolate and Orange Ganache Cake. The thick and smooth layer of orange and chocolate mousse on the almond cake base offers rich flavour with every mouthful. The Crepe Suzette is made to order at the show cooking station. Putting fresh orange on the sweet crepe and cooking with the orange liqueur, the aromatic smell will awaken your palate. Apart from that, many more citrus and honey theme dishes as well as popular choices like Chocolate Fountain, Popcorn and Waffles with condiments are awaiting you at the buffet counter!
