THE PORKLICIOUS MEAL TO CELEBRATE CHINESE NEW YEAR AT CHICAGO RIB HOUSE

January 16, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Are you bored of the traditional Chinese meals? Let make a twist with the western style of Lo Sang together with the Porklicious meal. And now you can dine with at Chicago Rib House’s Porkalicious Joy Luck Set for your Chinese New Year celebration.

Chicago Rib House comes with their home specially made Yee Sang. Unlike the usual Yee Sang, using the Smoked Norwegian Salmon, shredded mango, carrots, red cabbage, white radish, cucumber, cilantro, spring onion, and sesame seed, the yee sang is simply special. It is then being topped with the Chicago Rib House’s special in-house Plum Sauce. Now, toast up high for prosperity and luck.

Next we had the Porkalicious Joy Luck Set which is their Signature Platter. Serving in a large plate, the platter is just perfect for sharing. Comes with the of juicy spare ribs, pork sausage, grilled fresh water prawns, grilled mussels and vegetable sticks served with creamy cheese dips. It is such a big plate and worthwhile to share them together with friends and family. The ribs were good which appear to be juicy, as for mussels, they were fresh but prawns give us a slight shortfall as the freshness is not really in par. The sausage is good bringing the juicy, flavorful and moist texture. The Signature Platter is also available for individual order from 9th January onwards priced at RM39.90.

Braised Pork Belly, oh my!! The savory caramelized top skin with the thick fats and meat below is just sinfully good. But, for health conscious, we did remove the fatty part though. It taste so moist and flavorful and this go wells with the Jade Empress drink.

We ended with the Chicago Rib House signature ribs. Deliciously made, the baby ribs added with their unique sauce. Coming in full long slabs, the ribs were succulent and juicy and with the great way of char-grilled them with the plum sauce, it makes it much nicer. It is accompanied with 2 sides of your choice.

Not to forget is the Jade Empress drink which goes well with the set itself. The refreshing cool and lightly spiced mocktail brings us the sweet fruity taste which comes from the green apple and cranberry syrup, cranberry juice, soda water, cinnamon powder. Nice!

The Porkalicious Joy Luck sets are available from 18th January to 14th February in conjunction with the 15 days of Chinese New Year. Prices range from RM88.80 (for 2 pax) to RM168.80 (for 4 pax).

For a superb indulgence, try their Drunken Prawns dish which give you a happy year ahead.
The white wine steamed prawns, flambeed with brandy for a sweet price of RM68.80. With the brandy flavored with it, the dish was flambeed with blue flames, and pouring it unto the prawns. Delicious !

To add to the festive mood, Chicago Rib House has introduced the Ang Pow Dip to give customers that prosperity feel. For every order of the Porkalicious Joy Luck Set (2pax), customers are entitled to one lucky dip and 2 dips for every order for 4 pax. For a la carte dishes, customers are entitled to 1 lucky dip for RM100 spent, and 2 lucky dips for RM200 spent. So, if you’re into some western porky delights this Chinese New Year, do remember to drop by Chicago Rib House and check out their Porkalicious Joy Luck Set.
