GALLOP INTO THE YEAR OF THE HORSE WITH RESTAURANT HOME

Chef Tan Yong Hua, local celebrity chef and recent winner of the Iron Chef Thailand Challenge, invites you to indulge at Restaurant HOME to welcome the Year of the Horse.

To ensure that guests can enjoy a taste of home without the fuss, Chef Tan has created five Lunar New Year Set Menus to celebrate the first Chinese New Year at his restaurant. These set menus, ideal for reunions and gatherings, feature familiar traditional Cantonese dishes as well as lesser-seen heritage dishes. Chef Tan has also created Takeaway selections, comprising of popular dishes for guests to enjoy in the comforts of their home. Auspicious Lunar New Year Sets

The five set menus are: Prosperous Horse (from $198+ for 4 persons), Auspicious Gathering (from $398+ for 4 persons), Fortune and Prosperity (from $478+ for 8 persons), Wealth and Blessing (from $558+ for 8 persons) and Happiness and Blessing (from $718+ for 8 persons).

Barbecued Duck with Lychee Wood

Starting with the traditional tossing of Yu Sheng, Chef Tan has included his signature favourites such as Lychee Wood Barbecued Duck with Chef’s Special Sauce,Homemade Egg Bean Curd with Shrimp paste, and Crabmeat & Roe in Pi Pa Style.Known for his creative streak, Chef Tan is very proud of the Deep-fried Shrimp withSpicy Lemon Milk Cream. The spicy lemon milk cream was used in one of his winning dishes at the Iron Chef Thailand Challenge, and the unique combination of lemon and cream earned praise from the judges for both innovation and flavours.

The older generation will enjoy the walk down memory lane with refined heritage dishes, such as Baked Marble Goby in Claypot with Chef Tan’s In-House Recipe,Stewed Yellow Noodles with Lobster and Spring Onions wrapped in O’Ba Leaf, and Steamed Chicken with Flower Mushrooms, Bamboo Shoot & Pork.

Glutinous Rice

No Lunar New Year menu will be complete without the rich and hearty flavours of traditional dishes such as Braised Shark’s Fin Soup with Shredded Abalone, Crab Meat & Enoki Mushroom, Braised Dried Scallop with Bailing Mushroom & Sea Cucumber in Abalone Sauce, Braised 8 Head Quality Amidori Abalone with Flower Mushroom and Spinach, and Fragrant Rice with Dried Scallop & Preserved Meat wrapped in Lotus Leaf.

Lemon Cream Prawn

To complete the reunion dinner on a sweet note, a traditional dessert of Ginger Tea with White Fungus, Red Dates, Dried Longan, and Black Sesame Glutinous Rice Ball comes with each of the Lunar New Year Group Set Menu. Prices for the Lunar New Year Set Menus range from $198+ for 4 persons to $898+ for 10 persons. All set menus are ideal for groups of 4 to 6 persons or 8 to 10 persons.

Menu items on each of the set menu will differ in selection and advance reservations for the set menu is required. À la carte orders from a limited à la carte menu will also be available on the eve of Chinese New Year. Lunar New Year Made Easy: Restaurant HOME Takeaway Entertaining at home just got easier with Restaurant HOME’s Takeaway choices, with set menus and a la carte dishes.

Trio Happiness Package

The set menu for 10 persons, priced at $678+, includes items such as Yu Sheng with Norwegian Salmon. It also includes restaurant specialties of Barbecued Goose with Lychee Wood, Braised Treasures Combination, Fragrant Brown Rice with Preserved Meat & dried Scallop wrapped in Lotus Leaf and Ginger Tea Red Dates, White Fungus, Dried Longan with Black Sesame Glutinous Rice Ball.

The Braised Treasures Combination or Pen Cai ($268+ for 6 persons and $448+ for 10), is a treasure pot filled with abalone, prawns, scallops, gluten, dried oyster, black moss, carrots, pork belly, preserved belly sausage, preserved meat, lotus roots and many other traditional ingredients that are part of this customary dish that dates back to the Song dynastry. Reservations are recommended, and it is available for pre-order and takeaway. Says Chef Tan Yong Hua, “ I believe that Chinese New Year is a time for family and friends. I have created these dishes and menus with the hope that it will give my

guests happy memories to gallop into the year of the Horse.”

*All dishes from the Take Away Menu will have to be collected by 3pm on the eve of Chinese New Year. The restaurant will also be closed on the first day of the Lunar New Year on 31st January 2014. Normal operations will resume on 1 February 2014.
