KUALA LUMPUR AND MELAKA’S BARTENDERS BATTLE FOR A CHANCE TO BECOME HARD ROCK’S 2015 GLOBAL BAROCKER CHAMPION

November 3, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

Hard Rock International is shining the spotlight on the brand’s talented bartenders for Hard Rock’s third annual global BARocker competition! The battle will call on Hard Rock bartenders from around the world to showcase their top-notch bartending skills for the chance to be named Hard Rock’s best BARocker of 2015. On 29 October 2015, Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur and Melaka hosted the local round of this global competition, featuring the cafes’ talented bartenders who were judged by a panel of industry experts such as Jason Soon of Monin Kuala Lumpur, Frankie Leson and Erik Zulkiflie along with Astro Supersports Sportscaster, Roshan Narayan.

The competitors were evaluated on several elements, including recipe knowledge, pour testing, accuracy, speed, flair and showmanship and in the end, Syarif Ahmad@Daeng Celak Bin Mohd Haflan and Kartik Santharan won for Kuala Lumpur and Melaka respectively. Each of the first place winners received a 3D copper 2015 BARocker pin, which features a cocktail glass and teal background.

The BARocker winners will move on to the next round and represent Kuala Lumpur and Melaka in a regional BARocker competition with other Hard Rock Cafe bartenders in Bangkok, Thailand on 16 and 17 November 2015, for a chance to compete in the global round. Thirteen regional champions from around the world will then be flown to Orlando, Florida, USA for Hard Rock’s annual Global Conference in January 2016 for the worldwide finals. The grand prize winner will receive a Global BARocker pin, “2015 BARocker of the Year” Fender guitar, trophy, apparel and an ultimate getaway for two to their choice of one of Hard Rock’s beautiful all-inclusive resort properties! The Global BARocker champion will also have their winning drink featured on Hard Rock’s beverage menu for a limited time.

Guests are encouraged to join in on the fun and cheer on their favourite Hard Rock bartenders as they battle their way to the global finals in Orlando where they will compete for the title of Global BARocker Champion!
