Tanah Gajah Takes Picnics Afloat With New Boat Ride Experience

October 28, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

A tranquil lake surrounded by verdant tropical jungle in Ubud is the backdrop for a new leisurely picnic excursion dreamed up by the team at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana. The romantic experience involves couples taking to the water with a picnic basket in tow to enjoy being rowed around a secluded lake at the heart of Dua Dari, Tanah Gajah’s sister property.

While the surrounding natural landscape provides a peaceful outlook, passengers will feast on an ample spread including artisanal cheese sticks with a hummus dip, a juicy chicken ciabatta sandwich with caramelized onion jam, a selection of local tropical fruit, and homemade granola and fruit yogurt. Couples can toast with a bottle of chilled sparkling wine and refresh with strawberry, lemon and mint infused water. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available upon request.

The one hour experience is IDR 1,250,000 ++ per ride (approximately USD80++). For an additional IDR 1,200,000 ++ (approximately USD80++) a professional photography service can be added. The experience is ideal for two guests.

Dua Dari, also located in Ubud, became the Hadiprana family’s holiday home when their first family retreat Tanah Gajah was reimagined as a resort. Nowadays both properties welcome travelers. At Dua Dari, like Tanah Gajah, the vision of renowned architect and art collector Hendra Hadiprana endures. The late Hadiprana patriarch once said, “The most important thing for me is how to arrange architecture and interior spaces to not only be a place, but also be a work of art.” Here sculptures and artwork collected over Hadiprana’s lifetime adorn the grounds and the thoughtful design blends art, nature and Balinese architecture.

“With this experience we wanted to give our guests a new way to experience the peace and serenity that Bali of old, and Dua Dari in particular, exude,” explained Deasy Swandarini, general manager of Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana. “An intuitive friend once told Hendra Hadiprana that two beautiful angels guarded the land here and the words dua dari means two women or two angels. Our new boat ride gives guests a taste of this angelic setting.”
