Chinese New Year: Celebrate with an Auspicious Gift Box full of Good Wishes

January 11, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

闔家祝賀 ‘Hé jiā zhùhè’, brings meaning of good wishes for the family. 闔 (Hé) pronounced He-r which sounds similar to 合 (Hé), both symbolise respect and togetherness. In the past, the term 闔 (Hé) was used for the royal family and 合 (Hé) for commoners during reunions and celebrations. Combined with the word 家 (Jiā) which means ‘home’, 闔家 (Hé jiā) or 合家 (Hé jiā), symbolises the whole family.

In the spirit of keeping traditions alive, Chai Huat Hin, a traditional oriental grocery, has launched a curated gift box for shoppers who would like to explore local Chinese New Year delicacies. Available for preorder at RM388 from now until 23rd January 2022, shoppers can expect a box full of traditional dried ingredients to be gifted to families, friends and loved ones. The gift box is available in three themes — Reunion, Peace and Happiness.

As the name suggests, the gift box symbolises heartfelt wishes of good fortune, good luck, peace, joy, good health, and with everlasting prosperity to an individual as well as their loved ones. The gift box is carefully curated with auspicious ingredients full of good wishes.

Each gift box includes but is not limited to; the Abalone, an ingredient that brings good fortune; Sea Cucumber, a seafood ingredient that brings blessing to the receiver; Scallops, opens new opportunities and horizons and Bird’s nest, a popular ingredient that promotes good health.
