CHINESE NEW YEAR BUFFET WITH UTARA CAFÉ, ARMADA HOTEL

January 15, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

The Lunar New Year celebration is upon us once again, it’s the time of the year is when the Chinese from all over the world prepare to usher the beginning of a New Year in hopes of more bountiful and prosperous year to come. In line with the long heritage and tradition by the Chinese culture, the Lunar New Year is always welcomed by preparing the ‘annual ritual’ of the reunion dinner.

The reunion dinner is where family or relatives from near and far come to dine together as one in the spirit of togetherness. During this time, must-have individual dishes that symbolize auspicious meanings will be served, such as; Fish (surplus), Sea Cucumber (happiness), Lotus Root (togetherness), Black Moss or Fatt Choy (wealth), and Whole Chicken (completeness) to complete this glorious feast. Knowing so, this festive season; Armada Petaling Jaya welcomes The Year of the Snake by preparing an array of traditional dishes, all tailor-made to symbolize and to bring an abundance of prosperity and opulence to all diners.

Not forgetting the Western and Japanese cuisine; Smoked Salmon Ravioli in Creamy Nage, Fillet De Boeuf with Peppercorn Sauce, Roasted Duck Roulade with Kumquat Sauce, Teriyaki Snow Fish, Kaki-Age, Donburi and Teppanyaki Fish. Raise your chopsticks and Loh Hei to a prosperous year ahead at Armada Petaling Jaya with exciting Yee Sang Selections, such as; Fruitti Veggie Yee Sang (vegetarian), Salmon Yee Sang, or Butterfish Yee Sang. Opt for the Japanese Yee Sang for something a little more unique, with a selection of either Salmon or Butterfish; the Japanese Yee Sang comes inclusive of Idako (baby octopus), Hotate (scallops) and Kurage (jelly fish). What makes this dish even more unique? Instead of the cliché crispy crackers, our Japanese Chefs are serving it up with deep-fried Salmon Skin and crispy tempura instead, topped with a special Japanese dressing.

Besides the buffet, you also may have your table booked for a Halal Chinese New Year 10 Course dinner too. Watch out for our post soon.
