Baan Kanom Jeen @ Empire Damansara: Unusual Thai Cuisine

October 14, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Baan Kanom Jeen is one of the restaurant that capture our attention where the restaurant is famed for their Kanom Jeen which is another signature dishes in Thailand. Located in Empire Damansara, one can come here for an affordable Thai delights with loads of varieties.

The highlight is of course the hearty Kanom Jeen Set where this is good up to 2-3 person. The set comes with 12 slurp-licious noodles balls with four sauces, boiled eggs, crunchy anchovies & a crisp, fresh assortment of leafy herbs & vegetables. They comes with 4 types of sauces include green curry, namphrik (sweet and spicy red sauce), red namya (red sauce made from fish) and the southern namya sauce (spicy sauce that is loved by Southerners in Thailand). Love how the sauces matched with the delicious noodles and our favourite is the green curry sauce which comes with the tender chunks of chicken. And if you have not enough you can add the additional noodle balls at RM 1.70 each while additional sauces are RM 6.90.

Aside from Kanom Jeen Set which is one of their signature, they do have single plated dish such as the Green Curry Fried Rice which comes together with the moist fried fish. Uniquely delicious and addictive. We love the way they are done with the light spiciness and fragrant blend of green curry in it.

Chicken Sticky Rice
– Fried Chicken Rice-

Asides from the fried rice, Baan Kanom Jeen offers you with loads of the set meals as well. In here they have quite a variety of choices from the Chicken with Sticky Rice, Pad Thai Pattaya, Minced Prawn Omelette with Rice, Sunny Side Thai Basil Rice and more.

Asides, we enjoyed their lovely desserts  which are some of the signature Red Ruby (RM 6.90), The red ruby served with 2 scoops of ice cream instead of shave ice. The ice cream was good and every mouthful was a perfect indulgence.

Sticky rice was my favorite of the night. Deliciously done where they topped with the rich cocout ice cream together with the warm pandan sticky rice. Sides with fresh mango which made it to be one of the best ice cream.

Dont miss out their Sangkaya as well. Steamed bread with the fragrant Thai Kaya

Ends with a cup of Ice Tea
