Royal Plaza on Scotts Makes Its Mark on the Best Workplaces in Asia List 2017 by Great Place to Work

April 25, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Royal Plaza on Scotts has competed amongst the best in the region to be recognised as one of Asia’s Best Small & Medium Workplaces 2017 by Great Place to Work®. The hotel, with a staff-strength of 355, is the only brand in Singapore that has made it to the list. Royal Plaza on Scotts is ranked seventh in Asia.

The Best Workplaces in Asia list recognises organisations that are dedicated to sustaining high-trust cultures for their employees. The workplace is distinguished by its extraordinary levels of trust, pride, and camaraderie.

To qualify, the organisation has to be first recognised on the national Best Workplaces list. Out of 1,400 companies, the prestigious list of sixty winners were then selected based on the assessment on the Trust Index© and the Culture Audit© Management Questionnaire. Two-thirds of a company’s workplace culture evaluation is based on the employee survey; one-third is based on the company’s policies and practices, as measured in the Culture Audit.

“Royal Plaza on Scotts is one company which treats their employees with utmost respect and care, and their attention to employees’ needs is remarkable. No need for clocking in or out; no need to submit medical certificate; employees’ very own gym and chill-out lounge; education subsidies for their children; flexible benefits for families…the list goes on,” said Ms Evelyn Kwek, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® Singapore.

Royal Plaza on Scotts celebrates the great news with all of its talents by having a 6-day high tea buffet feast in Carousel, the hotel’s award-winning buffet restaurant. The week-long celebration ends with Mr Patrick Fiat, General Manager and Chief Experience Officer (CEO) of Royal Plaza on Scotts doing a giveaway to the back-offices with an ice-cream cart, dressed up as a local ice-cream man on Friday, 28 April 2017, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

“What better way to celebrate the award by our people, with our people, than to create events to build up an even stronger sense of camaraderie? Being recognised as one of the best in Asia is an incredible achievement, which is a testament to the great team effort of all of our talents. It is our talents who form the core of Royal Plaza on Scotts’ culture and transmit the values and beliefs to our business partners and guests through their communication and service delivery,” expressed Fiat.
