Treat your air-cond to some cleansing today!

April 11, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Imagine this: it’s blazing hot outside – so much so you could see heat rising from the pavements – and when you escape into what you hope is a cool air-conditioned room, the air conditioner’s just blowing musty, warm air? Ahhh, the frustration!

This is actually a pretty common scenario that many Malaysians would have encountered some time in their lives. Strangely, though air conditioners do not come cheap, many don’t know how or don’t really think about keeping them clean to ensure they work better and last longer.

Among those who do think of doing so from time to time, a contractor is often called in for the job. The deal usually costs RM 150 and above per unit. Don’t forget the fuss of having to make sure you’re home when the contractor’s coming, and having to wait for him to get the job done!

And let’s not even talk about how much more tedious it gets if your often-neglected air-conditioner breaks down every now and then for expensive repairs because it’s all dirty and clogged up inside!

So here’s the deal: What if you can do some thorough cleaning all on your own, without much fuss, and without having to fork out your hard-earned money, every time? And what if you can do it in just under 20 minutes?

Well, all you need is a can of 3-IN-ONE ® Professional Air Conditioner Cleaner, which retails at just RM24.50. You can find this in DIY, supermarkets and hardware stores in Malaysia.

It’s basically a WATER-BASED cleaning agent that dissolves grease, dirt, fungi, mold and other build-ups from the cooling coils of your air conditioners. No rinsing required.

BUT, how do you actually clean air conditioners with this spray? Here’s a step-by-step guide:
1. Firstly, make sure the power from your unit is disconnected
2. Remove filters and wash away dust
3. Spray 3-IN-ONE® Professional Air Conditioner Cleaner onto cooling fins vertically, from left to right
4. The cleaning agent will penetrate deep into the cooling fins. After 2 minutes, slide the filters back into their original place.
5. Switch on the air conditioner for at least 15 minutes to allow dirt to be drained out through the drain hose

Voila, you’re done! Air-cond cleaning has never been so easy!

You can do this every three to nine months. The frequency depends on the recommendations in the user manual for the specific unit, and the amount of allergens or dust in the area.

Good air-conditioner care will leave you with a unit cools faster – that means less electricity usage! – and one which gives you cleaner and fresher air too. YES, that little bit of Tender Loving Care goes a long way. It even extends the life span of your air-conditioner!
