Fairy Lights of Hugo’s

October 29, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

When the fairy lights are on the pine trees and the champagne corks are popping, we know that Christmas and New Year are just around the corner.  This holiday season, our Swiss-born executive sous chef Marco Mehr will present his festive menus to please Hong Kong diners at Hugo’s.  Enjoy an enticing array of gourmet delights at this renowned restaurant for a lavish European dining experience.

Silent Night Six-course Menu
Take part in a delightful dinner party with live music on Christmas Eve and feast on an extensive six-course European gourmet menu.  The menu will commence with foie gras torchon in poached pear with pan-seared foie gras medallion, port wine soubise and vanilla brioche; followed by smoked French pigeon breast and leg with savoy cabbage, pumpkin, forest mushroom duxelles and blackcurrant pigeon jus for a bit of elevated indulgence.  Be sure not to miss the amusing white truffle scented Jerusalem artichoke cream soup with Japanese sea urchin, melba toast and chive and the freshest pan-seared Hokkaido scallop with parsnip mousseline, grapes and bisque broth.  For the main, savour the delicate grilled US beef tenderloin with Alaskan king crab leg, sweet potato napoleon, roasted broccolini and red wine jus.  The finale, featuring a tantalising Christmas dessert, toasted dulcey gianduja with raspberry log cake, gingerbread ice cream and apricot pate de fruits will surely be a joy-ride for the senses!

Christmas and New Year’s Day Brunch
On Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, a wide array of celebratory options will be available in Hugo’s festive-licious brunch.  Be indulged in a gorgeous semi-buffet featuring sumptuous seafood-on-ice including oysters, lobsters and crab legs, as well as Hugo’s signature hors d’oeuvres.  Pick your favourite from a range of made-to-order main courses such as roasted US beef ribs, bacon wrapped US turkey roll, slow braised Australian lamb shank, poached half Atlantic lobster, as well as egg specialties such as European seasonal mushroom omelette or egg benedict cardinal – a selection sure to satisfy every palate.  To complete the culinary experience, a selection of mouth-watering, hand-crafted desserts will be offered; while free-flowing champagne, white wine and red wine will be available for guests seeking premium indulgence during the festive season.

Hugo’s is an elegant yet casual European restaurant serving traditional Western cuisine prepared only with the finest ingredients available.  It is a popular venue for gatherings and celebrations with fine food and wine as well as quality service.
