RAMADHAN BUFFET REVIEW AT SPOON CAFÉ ,G HOTEL KELAWAI

June 20, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

G Hotel Kelawai tagged as “Style … Redefined” is where iconic design and cutting edge lifestyle set the stage for exclusive and extraordinary experiences. The hotel houses rooms that are uniquely inspired by innovative design to create energizing space for guests to play or work by day or mix and mingle by night. In addition to that, it also accommodates three trendy and stylish food and beverage outlets – Spoon; a coffee house, 2PM; lobby lounge and Gravity; a 24th floor rooftop bar that are set to fulfil guests’ gastronomic appetites.

Spoon overlooking the mountain top scenery is reminiscent of a French Bistro. Spoon is perfect for a business gathering, casual brunch for friends or even a quiet dinner for two. With no compromise to quality ingredients, embark on a gastronomic adventure set to tantalize your taste buds with culinary fare from around the globe.

Spoon Café introduces its Sous Chef, Ketut Gede Dodi. Having worked in such positions as a chef on board at a private yacht and Chef De Partie, he understands what it takes to keep a food & beverage outlet running smoothly and to provide customer satisfaction. Chef Dodi brings more than 12 years of international experience to his role, having worked with some of the highly regarded chefs.

Leading the team of chefs is Executive Sous Chef, Ong Ban Khoon with 20 years of culinary experiences and specializes in various cuisine such as Szechuan, Cantonese, Penang Hawker, Nyonya and Thai. Chef Ong (Executive Sous Chef) and Chef Dodi (Sous Chef) work hand in hand to bring a “fine-dining” touch to the all-you-can-eat spread. Be it the starters or cold & hot dishes line-up, each section is artfully arranged and presented. Small portions of food are dished out each time to make the line-up look exclusive and enticing while keeping the food fresh.

This holy month of Ramadhan, Spoon Café offers abundance of delicious delights specially prepared by our culinary experts with traditional Malay and Asian cuisine. Priced at RM115 per adult, Jamu Selera Dinner Buffet is available daily starting from 18 June – 16 July 2015, 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Following that, Riang Raya Lunch and Dinner are priced at RM92 and RM115 respectively available on the 17 & 18 July 2015.

The stars of the appetizer line is Ulam-Ulaman, Nasi Impit with Serunding Ayam and Cold Seafood on the ice. Meanwhile, Chef Dodi makes the most authentic Bubur Lambuk with some g element. Some of the special recommendations by Chef Ong are; Sotong Berempah Kuala Perlis, Daging Paprik Padang Besar, Gulai Ayam Pantai Merdeka, Udang Goreng Sambal Petai, Ikan Kurau Goreng Barlada Batu Gajah and Kari Kambing A La Bakar Bata. Surprise you palate with the daily action stall featuring Roti Canai, Banana Fritter, Laksa Kuala Kedah, Mee Ketam and Murtabak.

All these lines will be set on different days throughout the whole month of Ramadhan.

Save some space for desserts while you indulge in the spread because Spoon Café also offers mouth-watering desserts such as Sago Gula Melaka, Pengat Pisang and Bubur Kacang Hijau from the pastry experts. On top of that, the buffet also features chocolate fountain with assorted fruits and ice cream.
