HOKKAIDO KEGANI, WE SERVE ONLY THE BEST @ TATSU JAPANESE CUISINE, INTERCONTINENTAL KL

September 30, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Gourmand in search for a rare dining experience, Tatsu Japanese Cuisine is the place to visit this month. The restaurant welcomes kegani from the island of Hokkaido, well known for its gourmet shellfish also known as horsehair crab. As the name suggests, the furry crab is currently in season and they are flown fresh from the cold waters of Japan sea.

Definitely a must-try, kegani crab is known for its succulent sweet meat. With over two decades of culinary skills, Chef Tetsuya Yanagida guide to take on the kegani is – less is more. He keeps the kegani crab dishes simple to retain the natural flavours and tenderness of the meat that really does not require much.

Relish in the sweetness of the shellfish with recommendation such as steamed kegani crab with lemon and ponzu sauce; grilled kegani crab with salt and lemon; or kegani crab hot pot with vegetables and yosenabe sauce. Hokkaido kegani also packs up more kani-miso, the flavourful green paste found inside the shell of the body perfect for accompaniment with the meaty flesh.

Kegani crab promotion is available from 1 to 31 October priced at RM350++ per portion.
Located at level 1 of the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur, Tatsu is a premier, upscale Japanese restaurant. Deriving its name from the word “Tatsu-jin” meaning master or expert, Tatsu brings a sophisticated twist to the traditional dining experience as it combines a subtle blend of Japanese aesthetics with contemporary yet minimalist design.  Helmed by award-winning Executive Japanese Chef, Tetsuya Yanagida, Tatsu has a capacity of 147 seats, with five choices of dining seating styles from the sushi bar, a teppanyaki room, private dining rooms, public dining area to a cozy lounge dining area.

For reservations, call Tatsu at 03 2782 6118 or email the team at [email protected] or f[email protected]. Tatsu Japanese Cuisine is open daily from noon to 2.30 pm for lunch and 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm for dinner. Visit us at www.intercontinental-kl.com.my.
