LUNAR NEW YEAR BUFFETS AT THE SPREAD, THE GARDENS HOTEL & RESIDENCE-ST GILES LUXURY HOTEL.

January 6, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

This lunar New Year, we bid farewell to the Year of the Snake and usher in the Year of the Horse. In the Chinese mythology of the cycle of 12 animals which represent each lunar New Year, people born during the Year of the Horse are said to have ingenious communicating techniques and in their community they always want to be in the limelight. They are clever, kind to others, popular among friends, active at work and refuse to be reconciled to failure.

As you usher in the lunar New Year, celebrate prosperity and good fortune at The Spread, located on level 6, The Gardens Hotel & Residences-St Giles Luxury Hotel. From 15 January 2014 till 15 February 2014, the scrumptious Lunar New Year Weekday Buffet Lunch is priced at RM88* per adult whilst children between 06-12 years enjoy a 50% discounted rate at RM44* per child, and children 5 yrs and under dine for free. Indulge in the Great Reunion Buffet Dinner exclusively available on 30 January 2014 at RM118** per adult and RM59**per child and rekindle family ties with this celebratory feast. On 31 January 2014, the brigade of skilful chefs whip up an authentic Chinese Prosperity Buffet Brunch which is served from 11 am till 3 pm at RM78* per adult and RM39* per child.

The mouth-watering buffet menus for the Lunar New Year Weekday Buffet Lunch change daily and you can look forward to Chinese New Year specialities each day. Toss up Chef’s Yee Sang for perpetual prosperity and tuck into the delicious Teochew-style raw fish salad. Consisting of strips of raw salmon, mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, Yee Sang literally means “raw fish” and commonly interpreted to mean a symbol of abundance and prosperity. You can enjoy choice of Fortune Yee Sang, Longevity Yee Sang or Prosperity Yee Sang which offer Salmon & Butter fish, Smoked Salmon & Tuna and Abalone & King Fish respectively at RM150*, RM180* and RM200*.

The buffet main course includes Braised Teochew Duck with Gingko Nut and this delicious concoction is tenderly prepared by Chef Meng who has close to 20 years experience in Chinese cuisine. As it is auspicious to consume fish during Chinese New Year, you should not miss Steamed Flower Garoupa with Ginger Soy Sauce. Fish is considered auspicious as the Chinese word for fish “Yu” also sounds the same as the word meaning “surplus” or “abundance”.

Other exclusive Chinese New Year dishes served are Broccoli with Mushroom, Tau Kan and Fish Maw, Steamed “Kampung Chicken” with Superior sauce, Stirfried Tiger Prawn with Spicy Sauce and includes a lovely option for vegetarians – Nam Yee Vegetable and Glass Noodles.

In addition to the Chinese New Year spread, other International delights, Asian temptations and local favourites are served to enhance your culinary adventure. Desserts are a sweet end to your perfect meal and for a Chinese New Year flavour, enjoy home-made Tangerine ice cream and Deep-fried Lin Koh with Sweet Potato and Yam.

All diners are served with free-flow of Mandarin orange juice during this promotion. The Lunar New Year Weekday Buffet Lunch is from 11.30am to 2.30pm whilst the Great Reunion Buffet Dinner is served 6.30pm to 10.30pm. Enjoy an exciting Lion Dance performance at the Hotel on 31 January 2014, from 10.00 am, by award-winning Kwong Ngai Lion Dance troupe. Advance reservations are highly recommended and kindly contact The Spread at 603 2268 1123 or emailing to [email protected].
