DISCOVER THE FLAVOURS OF MALAYSIA THROUGH RENAISSANCE KITCHEN DINNER BUFFET AT CAFÉ BLD

July 14, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

This July, Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel invites diners to embark on a journey through the vibrant flavours of Malaysia with the launch of the Renaissance Kitchen Dinner Buffet at Café BLD. Running from 1 July to 30 September 2026, this new themed buffet celebrates the country’s rich culinary traditions through authentic regional specialties, signature local favourites, and monthly highlights that capture the essence of Malaysian food culture. Every Friday and Saturday evening from 6:30pm to 10:00pm, Café BLD transforms into a lively culinary destination where diners can discover an ever-evolving dining experience inspired by Malaysia’s diverse gastronomic landscape. Each mont introduces a special feature that shines a spotlight on one of the nation’s most beloved flavours.

July celebrates the return of the King of Fruits with an indulgent Durian experience, offering diners the opportunity to enjoy unlimited servings alongside an extensive buffet spread. In August, the spotlight shifts to beloved hawker classics with live stations serving Ramly Special Burger, Mee Goreng Mamak, Roti John Daging, and freshly prepared Putu Piring Gula Melaka, capturing the lively spirit of Malaysia’s bustling night markets. September rounds off the culinary journey with comforting local favourites including Maggi Goreng Mamak Special, Roti Boom, the towering Roti Tisu Tower, and traditional Putu Bambu, freshly prepared to order.

Adding another layer of discovery and complementing the monthly highlights is an exclusive lineup of Malaysian Kitchen signature dishes crafted by Marriott Bonvoy chefs from across the country, each showcasing authentic regional recipes and local traditions. Diners can look forward to discovering:

  • Mee Rebus Daging Tetel and Kacang Pool by Chef Hamizi Abd Hamid from Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel
  • Daging Masak Lemak Cili Padi and Ayam Kuzi with Roti Jala by Chef Mohd Hairi Sahmizam from Putrajaya Marriott Hotel
  • Hinava Ikan Tenggiri and Sinalau Sapi Sabah by Chef Kelvin Kilin from Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu
  • Nasi Dagang Kelantan with Gulai Ikan Tongkol and Daging Kerutuk Kelantan by Chef Hasnaerdawaty Md Hanapi from Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur South
  • Gulai Panas Ikan Tenggiri and Laksa Telok Kechai by Chef Mohd Fauzi Hashim from The St. Regis Langkawi

Each dish reflects the distinctive flavours and traditions of its respective region, creating an immersive dining experience that celebrates Malaysia’s remarkable culinary diversity under one roof.

“The Renaissance Kitchen Dinner Buffet is more than just a buffet, it’s a celebration of Malaysia’s rich food culture and the talented chefs who bring these cherished recipes to life,” said Muhammad Syafiffi Tahir, Executive Chef, Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel. “By bringing together authentic regional cuisines from across the country, we invite our diners to discover familiar favourites while exploring new flavours that make every visit a memorable culinary journey.”
