Yu Ai @ Segambut : Awesome Seafood Noodles

September 23, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

It had been a while since we last visited Yu Ai Restaurant, a spot we remembered for their famed curry and tom yam noodles, known for their generous portions and rich flavors. After several years, we decided to return and give them another try, curious to see if their offerings still lived up to our past experience. While we remembered the food fondly, we also knew that their prices were on the higher side.

This time, I opted for the Seafood Tom Yam, one of their signature dishes. True to their reputation, the portion was generous, brimming with an assortment of fresh seafood. The bowl came packed with fish, prawns, squid, lala (clams), and more. Each bite was a seafood lover’s delight, with the broth thick, flavorful, and filled with a satisfying kick of spiciness. The rich, tangy tom yam base hit all the right notes, making it a dish worth indulging in, despite the higher price tag.

For the kids, we decided to order a bowl of clear soup noodles. While the broth itself was not particularly outstanding, the freshness of the ingredients was undeniable. Every spoonful was light and comforting, with the seafood’s natural sweetness shining through. It may not have been as bold as the tom yam, but it was a well-executed dish that served its purpose well.

All in all, our return to Yu Ai was a pleasant experience. The quality of their seafood remains top-notch, and the generous portions are still a hallmark of their dishes. Despite the premium pricing, it’s easy to see why Yu Ai continues to be a go-to spot for hearty, seafood-packed noodles.
