Manila’s biggest ChiMac Festival is happening at Solaire Resort Entertainment City

September 12, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of Korean culture and cuisine at Solaire Resort Entertainment City with an exciting week-long celebration that promises a feast for both your palate and your senses. From September 7 to 15, experience a fusion of live music, games, and entertainment that brings the best of Korean pop culture to Manila, starting with the highly anticipated ChiMac Festival on September 7, held at the Grand Ballroom.

Savor the Flavors of Korea: ChiMac and More

The ChiMac Festival, kicking off at 5 PM, offers an irresistible blend of Korean comfort food and entertainment. “ChiMac” is a beloved combination in Korea, referring to fried chicken (“chi”) and beer (“mac”). Visitors can indulge in authentic Korean dishes, enjoy refreshing Korean beers, and soak in electrifying live performances by DJ Kara and one of the Philippines’ most adored bands, The Itchyworms.

The culinary offerings at the festival are vast and varied, with a range of traditional Korean street food and delicacies. Start your culinary journey with Tteokbokki in multiple flavors, alongside staples like kimbap and kimchi. For those seeking heartier fare, try Korean-style sausage (Sundae), or warm up with a bowl of skewered fish cake soup, a healthier alternative to fried street snacks.

Continue your Korean feast at the pancake station, where you can pick from a variety of savory Buchimgae options, including kimchi, potato, seafood, zucchini, or shiitake mushroom pancakes. Snack enthusiasts can head to the fried station, offering crispy treats such as fried dumplings, sausage and rice cake skewers, and sweet and sour fried chicken balls.

If you’re craving noodles, the Korean noodles station has you covered. Choose from three types of noodles—guksu, glass, or instant noodles—paired with your choice of sauces like kimchi, sweet and sour, or deep soy sauce.

For meat lovers, the Korean hot station features delicious grilled and braised options, including chicken skewers, herb-marinated fresh pork belly (Samgyupsal) skewers, savory Bulgogi, and braised spicy pork ribs.

Celebrate with South Korea’s Most Beloved Food: Fried Chicken

No ChiMac festival would be complete without South Korea’s iconic fried chicken, renowned for being one of the world’s most beloved K-foods. Whether you prefer it spicy or crispy, this Korean staple will pair perfectly with ice-cold Korean beer, adding to the festive atmosphere.

But the fun doesn’t stop with the food! Guests can join the chicken and beer drinking contest or participate in the classic beer pong tournament for a chance to win exciting prizes. The night will also be filled with energetic performances, from DJ Kara’s electrifying set to The Itchyworms’ groovy rock tunes, keeping everyone on their feet.

Dive into Korean Culture with Engaging Activities

Solaire’s ChiMac Festival isn’t just about food—it’s a full immersion into Korean culture. Guests will have the opportunity to dress up in traditional Hanbok attire for a unique photoshoot experience, perfect for those wanting a taste of Korea’s cultural heritage.

The entire evening will be hosted by Shine Kuk, Miss Korea Philippines 2018 and a beloved Korean-Philippine TV personality, ensuring plenty of laughs and memorable moments throughout the night.

Make It a Night to Remember

With a continuous flow of authentic Korean dishes, unlimited beer, and a thrilling lineup of activities, the ChiMac Festival promises to be an unforgettable evening of fun and celebration for Korean culture lovers. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to experience the Hallyu wave right here in Manila.
