Best Nyonya Lemak Laksa @ Sin Yong Wah Coffee Shop, Pulau Tikus

August 5, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Nestled in the heart of Pulau Tikus, Sin Yong Wah Coffee Shop stands as a cherished dining destination in Penang. This quaint establishment, conveniently located just a short stroll from the renowned Pulau Tikus Market, has earned a reputation for offering delicious and affordable cuisine. Among the many culinary delights available, two standout dishes that exemplify the coffee shop’s appeal are the Nyonya Lemak Laksa and the Mee Goreng.

Lemak Laksa

The Lemak Laksa at Sin Yong Wah Coffee Shop is a delightful twist on the traditional Asam Laksa, combining elements of Thai Laksa to create a unique and creamy broth. This dish has quickly become a favorite among many, including myself. The rich, thick broth is infused with the fragrant and distinct flavor of torch flower, adding an aromatic depth that elevates the entire dish. Each spoonful of this luscious laksa is a harmonious blend of flavors that leaves a lasting impression on the palate.

Mee Goreng

Another must-try dish is the Mee Goreng, from the next door coffee shop. This plate of perfectly stir-fried noodles is a testament to the art of wok cooking. Each bite is imbued with a delightful smokiness and a balanced spiciness that tantalizes the taste buds. The noodles are cooked to perfection, maintaining a delightful texture that complements the robust flavors of the accompanying ingredients. The kick of spiciness in the Mee Goreng adds an extra layer of excitement, making it a dish that diners fall in love with instantly.
