EQ Presents Exquisite Mooncake Selection for Mid-Autumn Festival 2024

July 11, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 17, 2024, EQ is set to enchant guests with an exquisite array of mooncakes, seamlessly blending traditional and modern interpretations. This festival, which marks the end of the harvest period in China, is a time of reunion and giving, and EQ’s mooncakes are crafted to enhance this cherished tradition. The award-winning hotel offers 11 flavors, ensuring a delightful experience for all guests.

A Blend of Tradition and Innovation

EQ’s mooncake selection features both traditional baked mooncakes and contemporary snow skin varieties, each meticulously prepared to cater to diverse tastes. The traditional baked mooncakes are wrapped in a golden brown pastry, embodying the essence of classic flavors. Guests can choose from five flavors: white lotus with a single yolk, traditional Cantonese mixed nuts, white lotus, red bean, and the exclusive EQ Signature Pearl of Harmony. These mooncakes pay homage to time-honored recipes, offering a nostalgic taste of the festival.

On the other hand, the snow skin mooncakes bring a vibrant and innovative twist to the celebration. Encased in colorful rice flour exteriors, these mooncakes are available in six creative flavors: Golden Charcoal Musang King Durian, Emerald Yuzu Pandan, Mint Chocolate Hawaiian Macadamia, Butterfly Pea Flower Vitagen White Lotus, Red Bean Custard, and Sun-dried Scallop with Mixed Nuts. Each bite of these snow skin mooncakes promises a unique and delightful culinary experience, appealing to those seeking something different this festival season.

Elegant and Reusable Packaging

To elevate the gifting experience, EQ has designed three stylish packaging options that are as beautiful as they are functional. These packaging choices not only present the mooncakes in an elegant manner but also serve as reusable items, promoting sustainability.

1. **Autumn Jade Collection**: This collection includes four traditional mooncakes for RM288 or six snow skin mooncakes for RM328. The mooncakes are housed in a beautiful leather case in a warm burnt sienna shade, featuring a stylized rabbit motif – a symbol of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This case can be transformed into a chic handbag, making it a practical and stylish keepsake.

2. **Longevity Collection**: Priced at RM198, this collection offers eight mini baked mooncakes in either green tea or white lotus flavors. These mooncakes come in a stylish mustard yellow bucket bag with a chestnut brown carry strap, which doubles as a fashionable accessory.

3. **Premium Collection**: This is the ultimate gift for the Mid-Autumn Festival, featuring either a bottle of Hennessy VSOP and four traditional baked mooncakes for RM988, or a bottle of Bottega Gold Prosecco and four traditional baked mooncakes for RM788. Both options are presented in a luxurious leather case that can be repurposed as a jewelry or document case, adding a touch of luxury to the festive celebration.

Exclusive Pop-Up Booth and Sales Locations

EQ’s Celestial Treasures mooncakes will be available at a special Celestial Treasures Pop-up Booth in the hotel lobby starting June 15, 2024. Additionally, they will be sold at Kampachi and IPPUDO restaurants, Thyme Out Café in the AICB building on Jalan Dato Onn, and at The Exchange TRX Mall on the concourse level from August 19, 2024. Individual mooncakes can be purchased exclusively at EQ and The Exchange TRX Mall, providing ample opportunities for guests to experience these delicacies.

Special Offers

To cater to all gift-giving needs, EQ is offering an early bird discount of 15% on purchases made between June 15 and July 31, 2024. Additionally, there are bulk purchase discounts of 10% for orders of 20 boxes or more and 15% for orders of 50 boxes or more. These discounts apply to the Autumn Jade Collection, Longevity Collection, and Premium Collection, making it easier for guests to share the joy of the festival with loved ones.

A Message from the General Manager

Gerard Walker, General Manager of EQ, expressed his enthusiasm for the mooncakes, stating, “One of the warmest aspects of Chinese culture is the gift-giving that happens during festivities. The tradition and lore behind these food gifts are a fascinating part of Malaysian culture. We at EQ are looking forward to the response our presentation boxes will undoubtedly get this year, seeing we are the only hotel whose gift boxes transform into wearable and carriable fashion accessories. We hope that by putting some thought into our packaging, we will contribute to the sustainability of our festive food items. I hope that after the last mooncake has been enjoyed, the boxes will be a useful reminder of the Mid-Autumn Festival.”

Orders and Inquiries

For orders and inquiries, guests are encouraged to reach out to [email protected] or WhatsApp +6012 278 9239. EQ’s thoughtful and stylish presentation of mooncakes ensures a delightful and sustainable celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, making it a memorable experience for all.
