Meliá Hotels welcomes furry family members with enhanced pet friendly program

June 4, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Meliá Hotels International has launched a new Pet Friendly program, designed exclusively for guests with four-legged companions. Starting this month furry family members will receive the warmest welcome at over a hundred Meliá hotels globally, where they can enjoy a stay as exclusive and comfortable as their owners’.

In Asia Pacific, hotels in Vietnam (Sol Phu Quoc and Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort), Thailand (INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit) and China (INNSiDE Zhengzhou, Meliá Chongqing, and Gran Meliá Chengdu) will take part in the new program.

Building upon Meliá’s existing pet-friendly policies, the Pet Friendly program optimises amenities and care dedicated to guests’ beloved pets, while expanding the selection of hotels offering these services, and streamlining the booking process directly on melia.com.

“This program reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our guests, including their beloved pets, who are integral members of their families,” explained Susanna Mander, Marketing Director of Meliá Hotels International. “By providing a clear and comprehensive response to these needs, we ensure that every member of the family enjoys a memorable stay with us.”

Setting itself apart from other pet-friendly programs, Meliá’s Pet Friendly hotels are fully-equipped to accommodate up to two dogs per room. Additionally, our program places pets at the forefront of the experience, ensuring they receive the best attention from the moment they enter the hotel. From a surprise welcome gift upon arrival to a comfortable bed and an online destination guide featuring pet friendly places and services nearby, Meliá ensures that pets feel valued and catered to throughout their stay.

In partnership with the Spanish startup Patasbox, Meliá European hotels will pamper pets with a curated selection of organic and natural products, further enhancing their stay experience. Patasbox offers a subscription service for dogs and their human companions, unveiling surprise-themed boxes every month filled with premium products.

As part of our commitment to inclusivity, pets staying at Meliá hotels will enjoy unlimited access to outdoor areas and are welcome to accompany their owners in most areas of the hotel, excluding specific zones such as the spa, indoor pool, and gym.

The Pet Friendly program by Meliá is available across various hotel brands, including ME by Meliá, Zel, and INNSiDE by Meliá, as well as a selection of Gran Meliá, Paradisus by Meliá, The Meliá Collection, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, Sol by Meliá, and Affiliated by Meliá hotels. Meliá are continuously working to expand this program to more hotels, ensuring that all necessary spaces and services are in place to properly accommodate pets.

The cost of this service varies depending on the hotel, with rates starting from 25 euros per day. This fee will be included in the final room rate reserved through melia.com, making the booking process seamless and convenient for guests.
