Resorts World Genting celebrates Ramadan with Underprivileged Children

 Resorts World Genting (RWG) showcased its commitment to corporate social responsibility uniquely by hosting 25 underprivileged children from Rumah Titian Kaseh at a special breaking of fast event. The event was organized in collaboration with Genting Green Generation (G3), RWG’s employee volunteer initiative focused on environmental conservation. Held at Resorts World Awana (RWA) during Ramadan and in conjunction with Earth Hour, the gathering represented a meaningful blend of cultural observance and sustainability efforts.

Mesmerized by the array of food, the children joyfully partook in a sumptuous feast featuring delightful dishes from the East Coast at Jom Makan Awana. They savored specialties such as Kambing Bakar, Ayam Percik, Sup Aneka, Rendang Tok, Singgang Kelantan, Ayam Cincalok, Urab Nangka, and a variety of traditional Malay kuih.

Prior to the feast, the children, aged between 5 and 17, engaged in meaningful activities including seedling planting at RWA’s Herb Garden and a nature walk on the Awana Trail, where they learned about the region’s rich flora and fauna alongside G3 volunteers.

In a creative session, the children showcased their artistic talents through hand printing, followed by a symbolic observance of Earth Hour, during which they lit candles and tea lights with G3 volunteers to support environmental conservation efforts.

To commemorate their visit, each child received duit raya and a goodie bag containing souvenirs such as a black gibbon plushie, Genting Highland Heroes activity book and a sand art kit, presented by Dato’ Sri Kay Atisha Parasuraman, Vice President of Corporate Communications & Public Relations, alongside Mr. Khew Choon Teck, Vice President of Resorts World Awana,

“We are delighted to provide children from disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to enjoy fun environmental activities and break fast in the serene ambiance of Resorts World Awana this Ramadan,” said Dato’ Sri Kay.

Resorts World Genting remains steadfast in its commitment to making a positive impact by engaging and supporting different segments of the community.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to RWG for this wonderful day-out. The children were overjoyed to break their fast in a tropical retreat with a delectable buffet spread,” said Siti Nor Ajlaa Hashim, Warden of Rumah Titian Kaseh.
