A Fusion of Flavors: Exploring Red Chinese Cuisine, Pullman KLCC with Chef Kong

July 27, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Step into the vibrant world of Red Chinese Cuisine at Pullman KLCC, where a talented new Master Chef, Chef Kong, awaits to take you on an extraordinary culinary journey. With his expert touch, Chef Kong has curated an exciting à la carte menu that promises to tantalize your taste buds and leave you craving for more. This unconventional Cantonese restaurant prides itself on blending tradition and innovation, resulting in a remarkable dining experience that sets it apart from the rest.

Dim Sum Trio Platter

We started off with the tantalizing Dim Sum Trio Platter. This starter stands out as a fusion of traditional, western, and Japanese flavors, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to creativity and innovation. It features you with the crystal dumplings, scallop cheese balls, and Japanese eel dumplings.

Crystal Dumpling :  It comes with the thin and delicate skin and delicious tender juicy prawns in it.

Scallop Cheese Balls:  A must have where the crispy and golden brown balls are filled with succulent scallops and a creamy cheese center that adds a luscious richness to each bite.

Japanese Eel Dumplings: The dumplings feature the distinct umami flavor of eel, delicately encased in a soft and pillowy dumpling skin. The Japanese Eel Dumplings offer a delightful surprise

Double-Boiled Black Chicken Soup with Dried Scallop and Fish Maw

The rich and nourishing broth is the result of hours of meticulous preparation and skillful double-boiling, And inside, one can enjoy the tender and succulent black chicken, dried scallop, and fish maw meld together to create a delicious, soothing and flavourful blend of soup.  We love the earthy notes are beautifully balanced by the delicate sweetness of the dried scallop, which brings a touch of umami to the broth.

Stir-Fried Hokkaido Scallop and Asparagus with Black Truffle Sauce

Upon our first bite, we were greeted with the tender Hokkaido scallops that had been slightly overcooked. Although this was a minor setback, the flavors of the dish more than made up for it. However, what truly stole the show was the mesmerizing black truffle sauce. It was a harmonious blend of pungent and earthy notes, elevating the entire dish to a new level of indulgence.

Cold Ramen with Aged Vinegar Dressing and Oven-Baked Butter Garlic River Prawn

The cold ramen was impeccably cooked to achieve the perfect texture – firm yet tender, with a satisfying chewiness. Tossed in the Aged Vinegar Dressing, the ramen was elevated to new heights of flavor. The prawns were expertly oven-baked, allowing the natural sweetness of the river prawns to shine through. The butter and garlic coating added a luxurious depth to the dish, making it an absolute delight for seafood enthusiasts.

Together, the Cold Ramen with Aged Vinegar Dressing and Oven-Baked Butter Garlic River Prawns presented a harmonious blend of Chinese and Japanese influences

Tiramisu

The coffee tiramisu arrived at our table with an alluring aroma that instantly captivated our senses. It is something unique comparable to the usual tiramisu we had.

For anyone seeking a delightful and unique dining experience, Red Chinese Cuisine is a must-visit. Whether you are a seasoned food enthusiast or simply looking to explore new flavors, this culinary gem promises to satisfy your palate and leave you craving for more of Chef Kong’s innovative creations.
