A Family Escape Above the City at Iconic Regency Service Residences, Penang

August 8, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

If you’re searching for a staycation that offers the best of both worlds  where it brings you with the comfort of home and the perks of hotel living  and let me introduce you to a hidden gem in the heart of Sungai Nibong: Iconic Regency Service Residences.

Managed by the reputable Iconic Hotel, this 42-storey residence redefines serviced living with 200 fully furnished units, thoughtfully designed for travellers, families, and professionals alike. Whether you’re in Penang for work, a short break, or a long-awaited family holiday, this is where urban living meets effortless relaxation.

First Impressions: A Seamless Arrival

From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I knew this wasn’t just another apartment-style stay. The 24-hour check-in reception greeted us warmly, and the check-in process was quick and professional; very much like checking into a luxury hotel. Situated just 20 minutes from Penang International Airport and neighbouring the 5-star Iconic Marjorie Hotel, the location couldn’t be more ideal.

Surrounded by the buzz of Bayan Lepas, yet tucked into its own elevated sanctuary, Iconic Regency strikes the perfect balance between city connectivity and serene living.

Our Stay: Comfort in Every Corner

We booked a Two-Bedroom Residence, spanning a generous 700 sq ft, and it truly felt like home the moment we walked in. Spacious, clean, and bathed in natural light, the unit was well-furnished with everything we needed — a living and dining area, fully equipped kitchenette, washer, Wi-Fi, and more.

But what stood out most? The beds.

Soft, supportive, and made for sleep that truly restores — I slept like a baby every night, and so did the kids! It’s a small detail that makes a big difference when you’re away from home.

The bathroom comes equipped with essential amenities such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and towels; everything you need for a comfortable stay

Designed for Families and Fun

What really impressed me was how family-friendly the facilities were. It wasn’t just about a nice room — it was about creating a space where every member of the family could unwind.

👦 Children’s Playground: A safe and colourful space where the kids could run, climb, and burn off energy while we parents enjoyed some downtime. Laughter filled the air — and that’s the sound of a real vacation.

🕹️ Adult Play Space: A dedicated recreational zone for grown-ups to relax, engage, or just take a breather. Whether it was a bit of fitness, fun, or simply escaping the screen time, it was a welcome addition.

☕ Vending Machine: This little convenience became our go-to for late-night snacks and quick coffee breaks. Sometimes, all you want is a quiet moment with a hot drink — and Iconic Regency had us covered.

The Poolside View That Steals the Show

The swimming pool was nothing short of spectacular. Imagine floating in a pool while gazing out at the stunning skyline of Penang, complete with views of both Penang Bridges. That’s what you get here.

There’s also a jacuzzi for adults, and a kids’ pool so the little ones can splash around safely. Whether you’re soaking under the sun or enjoying an evening dip, the pool area is a total highlight.

Extra Perks That Elevate the Experience

As if that wasn’t enough, Iconic Regency also offers:

✅Complimentary shuttle service to Georgetown, Queensbay Mall, and the Free Trade Zone

✅Free multilevel parking for guests

✅Daily housekeeping and maintenance that keeps your space fresh

✅A 10% dining discount at the adjoining Iconic Marjorie Hotel — which made for a perfect dinner one night!

Final Reflections

Iconic Regency Service Residences isn’t just a place to stay ; it’s a place to live, even if just for a weekend. With its unbeatable location, thoughtful amenities, and a setting that welcomes both adults and children, it’s a true urban oasis in the heart of Penang.

Whether you’re travelling for work or play, solo or with family, this is a stay that ticks all the right boxes. For us, it was a staycation to remember and one we wouldn’t hesitate to repeat.
