D’Laksa and foodpanda Malaysia Join Forces to Create a New

June 9, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Record for Most Bowls of Laksa Delivered

Love it or hate it, but asam laksa lovers certainly had a field day when thousands of them opened up their foodpanda apps to order 15,381 bowls from D’Laksa, the much-loved Malaysian laksa chain.

For one magical hour during lunchtime between 12 noon to 1 pm yesterday, aficionados of D’Laksa’s fragrant fishy broth and signature prawn paste made their orders count towards the ‘Most laksa sold through delivery platform in an hour’ in the Malaysian Book of Records. Their meals were made even better thanks to exclusive discounts offered by foodpanda for this special occasion.

With foodpanda delivery partners and D’Laksa staff from 53 outlets nationwide working hand-in-hand to deliver customers their piping hot asam laksa orders, this extraordinary feat signifies the larger commitment by both brands to delivering excellence and satisfaction to laksa enthusiasts across Malaysia.

The popularity of D’Laksa’s exquisite and piquant asam laksa, offered at a mouth-watering price of RM5.99 for three bowls of asam laksa during the 6.6 campaign, led to a surge in demand as customers eagerly savoured their favourite laksa varieties. Notably, the outlet in Queensbay Mall, Penang outlet saw the biggest contribution of orders, tirelessly producing and delivering the aromatic bowls of D’Laksa to satisfy the cravings of laksa enthusiasts. For the record, the other top three locations that demonstrated the highest demand for D’Laksa’s asam laksa were Kepong, Bandar Utama, and Shah Alam.

In addition to this record-breaking achievement, D’Laksa, has signed on board to foodpanda’s panda picks programme – foodpanda’s selection of delectable vendors that are available for delivery ONLY on the foodpanda platform. This strategic collaboration enables D’Laksa to expand its reach further and cater to customers, relying on foodpanda’s extensive delivery network to provide the utmost convenience for consumers to indulge in the delightful flavours of D’Laksa, all through a seamless delivery service.

Sayantan Das, Chief Executive Officer of foodpanda Malaysia, expressed his delight in partnering with D’Laksa, stating, “At foodpanda, we continuously strive to deliver quality to our customers by elevating each brand to prominence with our panda picks programme. Now, our customers can relish their favourite bowls of laksa delivered straight to their doorstep, all with a few clicks on our app or website.”

“D’Laksa was borne out of our love for a good bowl of laksa – a Penang street food staple. In just 11 years of starting this brand, we are pleased to have grown this brand and brought this authentic taste and flavour to the whole country. This collaboration with foodpanda is yet another milestone and testament that the best is yet to come for D’Laksa,” said Jaysern Tan, founder and Managing Director of D’Laksa.

He added that since listing D’Laksa on the panda picks programme, the restaurant chain has seen exponential growth in the number of orders for their signature asam laksa. Order volume for D’Laksa recorded a 165% growth while new customers increased 2.75x in just three months after joining the programme in March. Similarly, brands that have enlisted themselves on panda picks have seen an increase in new customers to the brand, an unprecedented increase in brand awareness and higher effectiveness in their online delivery presence by having a more curated approach with foodpanda.

In conjunction with the launch of D’Laksa as one of the latest panda picks brands on foodpanda, customers can enjoy special discounts by using the following voucher codes when ordering their favourite bowl of D’Laksa:

PandaPick Voucher: Enjoy a 50% discount (capped at RM12.50) with a minimum order value of RM25.

PandaPro Exclusive: PandaPro users can avail a 15% discount with a minimum order value of RM15.
