Editor Picks : 5 Must Have is SPICE PISA Cafe @ Penang

March 3, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

If you’re a foodie visiting Penang, you simply can’t miss out on Spice PISA Cafe (formerly known as PISA Corner) – it’s one of the largest hawker centers in Relau, Penang. Located on Jalan Tun Dr Awang, this food court offers a wide variety of delicious hawker food that’s sure to satisfy your cravings.

From the famous Char Koay Teow to Claypot Chicken Rice, Curry Mee, Grilled Fish, and more, there’s something for everyone here. We make it a point to dine here every time we visit Penang, and we’re excited to share our list of must-try dishes with you. Trust us, these recommendations are not to be missed!

1. Chicken Wings

If you’re a fan of grilled chicken, then you simply must try the Grilled Chicken Wings and Grilled Chicken Drumstick at Spice PISA Cafe – they’re some of our absolute favorites! What’s more, we’ve heard that the owner of this hawker stall is actually the daughter of the famous grilled chicken wings in Gurney Drive, while her dad still operates the original stall. We can definitely attest to the fact that the chicken wings here are simply delicious – each mouthful is filled with irresistible flavor and the meat is incredibly tender and juicy. Plus, the aromatic hints of spices and herbs just take the dish to the next level.

2. Tang Hoon Soup

! This hearty soup boasts a comforting warmth and subtle peppery flavor that we absolutely love, and it’s generously topped with bursting flavors and ingredients that are hard to find elsewhere.

From the first spoonful to the last, you’ll be transported to a world of deliciousness, and you’ll find yourself craving this soup long after you’ve left. In fact, every time we visit Penang, we make it a point to stop by and indulge in this tasty dish – it’s become a must-try for us, and we’re sure it will be for you too.

3. Siew Yok

The whole pigs are freshly prepared daily and often sell out quickly due to high demand.

The meat is cooked to perfection and served with a juicy and crackly skin that’s simply irresistible – it’s definitely our favorite dish on the menu! Each bite is packed with superb flavor, making it a truly delicious experience from start to finish.

4. Curry Mee

Unlike the KL-style curry mee, the Penang-style White Curry Mee is packed with unique flavors and aromas that are sure to delight your senses.

The noodles are cooked to a perfect springiness, and the broth is infused with a light and delightful coconut flavor. It’s then topped with generous portions of flavorful ingredients such as cockles, tau pok, taugeh, and sotong, making it a truly satisfying meal.

5. Claypot Frog Rice

Served in a piping hot claypot, the fragrant rice is cooked to perfection and packed with delicious flavors that leave diners craving for more. The juicy frog legs are expertly prepared and add a unique and flavorful taste that is exclusive to this dish. And, they takes great pride in using only the freshest and locally sourced ingredients to prepare their dishes, and their Claypot Frog Rice is no exception. It is a healthy and tasty meal that customers keep coming back for.

If you are  looking for some delicious temptations in Spice PISA foodcourt, this is defiantely the place to visit.
