SUBWAY BRINGS UP THE HEAT WITH A REFRESHING KICK! TO “MALA”-YSIANS THIS CHINESE NEW YEAR!

January 18, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Kicking off the Lunar New Year hot and fresh, Subway Malaysia is excited to serve Malaysian Sub fans an all-new addition to its iconic gallery of Subs. With flavours that will refresh your tongue and singe your tastebuds, Subway introduces the blazingly new, numbingly refreshing Mala Sub!

Ready to blow your taste buds away and fill your belly with warmth? Guests can find the all-new Mala Sub at Subway restaurants across the nation starting January 11 to March 21, 2023, just in time for Chinese New Year! The Mala Sub will be available in both beef and chicken protein options for guests to choose from.

Originating from Szechuan, China, Mala has become a favourite taste profile among local foodies’, with Malaysians putting themselves through spice, sweat and tears just for the savoury experience. While in Malaysia Mala is often consumed either in a stir-fry or as a broth in hotpot, Subway’s unique pairing of fresh ingredients and Mala flavours create an all new, spicy but fresh flavour profile for guests to enjoy.

The launch of the all new Mala Sub will also introduce the brand’s very first dry rub seasoning. Through rounds of research and development, Subway has mastered a fresh and new way to give customers great flavour while ensuring that their beef steak and chicken strips are well coated with this delightfully flavourful seasoning that’s both fragrant and spicy without sacrificing the unique tastes that guests love.

“At Subway, we pride ourselves on our constant innovation to bring more fresh choices for our guests. With the Lunar New Year just around the corner, this felt like the perfect time to introduce the Mala flavour with a refreshing Subway twist! With our all-new dry rub seasoning, our Mala sub is packed with flavour and has undergone intensive taste tests to tweak its suitability for the Malaysian palate. We hope Malaysians will enjoy the Mala flavour as a fiery way to kickstart the New Year! All of us at Subway are excited to continue giving our guests more unique dining experiences in 2023,” said Sng Lee Ping, Chief Operations Officer, Pegacorn, Sdn Bhd.

Guests can get ready for their refreshing Mala kick and savour the all new flavour as a Sub, salad or wrap. Prices are as listed below:

Mala Chicken sub starts from RM 14.50  for a 6-inch and RM 23.70 for a footlong

Mala Beef sub starts from RM 15.50 for a 6-inch and RM 25.70 for a footlong
