HOPPING INTO A DELIGHTFUL LUNAR NEW YEAR WITH THE ICONIC GOLDEN PHOENIX CHINESE POP-UP RESTAURANT.

 The lunar year of the water rabbit is predicted to be one filled with great hopefulness, as the rabbit is a symbol of peace, prosperity, and longevity in Chinese culture. And this year, EQ Hotel brings you their pop-up Chinese Restaurant which caters to those who are in love with these awesome Chinese cuisines. 

As for becoming the tradition of EQ Kuala Lumpur, the lunar new year is the time of revival for the Golden Phoneix; once they are the city’s most famed Chinese Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. And every year, EQ will bring back the legacy of the Golden Phoenix from the food its cherished menu archives.

And this time, we were able to be there to sample their awesome-licious delights that cover from the delighting food which is specially curated by Chef Choy Sin Sang.

And this time, we had their Happy Reunion Set which is priced at RM328+ per person).

Platinum Hokkaido scallop and salmon Yee Sang

We started out with their yee sang which is beautifully displayed. The Yee Sang is freshly done in the kitchen by their experienced chef and they comes with the fresh salmon and Hokkaido Scallop with it. 

Double-boiled fish maw soup with fish lips and conch meat

As for the soup, chef had double boiled the soup for hours ensuring each and every sip of soup is aromatic and so delish. The soup is magnificently delicious and we love how they are done and tasted. 

Baked cod fillet with sakura “melazhan” sauce with fragrant onions

Filled up your tummy with their beautifully baked cod fish and it is served together with the chef signature homemade “melazhan” with it. The spicy and fragrant blend from the 

Braised sun-dried oyster with abalone, sea moss, flower mushroom and broccoli

Perfectly braised, the dish is absolutely an indulgence where one wull definitely fall in love. The oyster are huge and sides with the delicious abalone which give it a double thumbs up.

Stir-fried Hokkaido scallops and prawns with asparagus in supreme dried scallop sauce

And this time, you can also enjoy their stir fried Hokkaido Scallops too which is packed with the aromatic flavours and prawns . It is served together with asparagus and dried scallop sauce. 

Roasted chicken with fragrant shallots, garlic and Mexican spice

Their chicken, they are perfectly roasted and bring you with crispy skin. Tender juicy meat with awesomely delicious skin. This is magnificent. 

Sakura prawn fried rice with smoked duck, taro and asparagus

Love their fried rice which comes simply flavourful. And it is stir-fried with smoked duck, taro, and asparagus.

And of course, we ends our meal with their delightful sweet desserts which comes deliciously good.  

There are four set dinner menus, offering some of the very best celebratory fare. Priced at RM188+, RM238+, RM328+, RM488+ and RM688+ respectively per person, for a minimum of four persons.
