The first dual-branded property by Marriott Bonvoy in Malaysia, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre, spotlights their emerging team of mixologists taking on the bar scene in a hospitality narrative. The Malaysian rising stars, Nadzemi Norihan, Ajit Narindar, Baim Shahanur and Alvin Mak, are making their mark to elevate guest experience through curated and responsible mixology—featuring the official Visit Malaysia 2026 Signature Mocktail, Bandung Pandan Spritz, alongside thoughtfully crafted concoctions that altogether underscores the two hotels’ prominence as Certified Green Hotels.
BANDUNG PANDAN SPRITZ BY NADZEMI NORIHAN
The talented Ambassador at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur, Nadzemi Norihan, is one of the local mixologists at the hotel who earned his biggest milestone at the Signature VM 2026 Mocktail Championship 2025 last year. His winning creation, Bandung Pandan Spritz, was crowned with the official signature mocktail for the national campaign launched this year, garnering him the recognition he deserves. The refreshing mocktail was inspired by his favourite local beverage, Sirap Bandung, which resounds with familiarity and feeling of home. Nadzemi’s innovative spin to crafting Bandung Pandan Spritz is by using clarification and carbonation techniques with zero-proof artistry. It reintroduces the classic beverage with a sparkling sensation and infused with essences of lemon concentrate, coconut lychee, and pandan, offering a fresh interpretation of tradition with a nod to modern creativity.
THE RENEWED RITUAL BY AJIT NARINDAR

The Head Mixologist at R Bar, the signature bar at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur, Ajit Narindar brings his own flair and character to the stage, having started his career in the luxury hospitality bar scene. Amongst his many achievements, his win as Malaysia champion for 2025 Marriott International APEC Sustainable Bartender Championship “Rising Star” tops the list of feats.
His creation, Golden Ritual, was the winning cocktail that is a testament to redefined mixology as he embraced sustainability in every way by transforming forgotten ingredients into rejuvenating sips. This year, Ajit returns to retain the title with a new creation, The Renewed Ritual, at the 2026 Marriott International APEC Sustainable Bartender Championship “Rising Star”. The zero-waste cocktail highlights fresh local guavas, layered with notes of oxidised wine, pineapple and calamansi citrus, and a subtle hint of pandan—carrying a thoughtful story of flavour, creativity, and forgotten elements brought back to life.
ASAM BANGKIT BY BAIM SHAHANUR

With only two years of experience behind the bar at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur, Baim Shahanur discovered his passion for the art of mixology with the help of his leaders who urged him to explore the craft. Just two months into his role at R Bar, he made his mark at a guest shift collaboration in Langkawi where his recognition grew, and his understanding of local mixology deepened. Inspired by the exposure and driven by a commitment to sustainability, Baim took a leap of faith to be one of the contenders in the 2026 Marriott International APEC Sustainable Bartender Championship “Rising Star” for the first time. His original creation, Asam Bangkit, presents a tequila-based cocktail mix of honey tamarind shrub, cold brew coffee, carbon dioxide, and citrus foam. Further enhanced by a special twist that pays tribute to local charms like asam jawa, and nanas bakar, the cocktail name is inspired by the Malay concept of revival.
TROPIC HEAT FIZZ BY ALVIN MAK

Leading the bar scene at Sichuan Kitchen, the specialty restaurant at Four Points KLCC, Alvin Mak’s mixing skills run in his blood through a family legacy. Known to have begun bartending since the age of 18 at a family-owned bar business in Ipoh, his artistry is often an element of surprise given his reserved persona. Some of Alvin’s career milestones include his guest shift appearance at a popular local bar in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, as well as Singapore. Also contending in the 2026 Marriott International APEC Sustainable Bartender Championship “Rising Star”, Alvin takes on the challenge for the second time this year with a bespoke cocktail, Tropic Heat Fizz. His creativity explores the zero-waste practices of using homegrown papaya as the main ingredient where every element, from papaya skins to galangal fibres, is repurposed to create depth, clarity, and purposeful taste.
Together, these four mixologists embody the spirit of innovation, sustainability, and local storytelling that defines the evolving hospitality landscape in Kuala Lumpur. Through their distinctive creations and shared commitment to responsible mixology, Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre continue to elevate guest experiences while reinforcing their position as forward-thinking, environmentally conscious destinations in support of Visit Malaysia 2026.
