yumeat™ debuts innovation for delicious, health-conscious food alternatives

January 21, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

yumeat™, a new brand for plant-based food alternatives, debuts two sustainable, nutritious yet delicious plant-based options made for the local palate – the yumeat™ plant-based luncheon and yumeat™ plant-based minced meat. yumeat™ provides delicious innovation that can cater to the palates of flexitarians, meat-eaters, taste explorers, created to meet the rising demands of health-conscious and foodies with concerns about climate change.

yumeat™ is the first shelf stable plant-based food product produced in Malaysia and Asia. The brand’s plant-based alternatives are formulated for the local palate. Consumers can enjoy a sense of comfort, pleasure, and nostalgia with every bite of plant-based luncheon or plant-based minced meat with bean paste when prepared with favourite recipes, like luncheon fries or hot porridge. As tasty as conventional meat, yumeat™ can be sautéed, grilled, fried, steamed or stewed. It is also Halal-certified and free from cholesterol, MSG, GMO, antibiotics, sodium nitrite and other preservatives.

“Malaysians are eating better with increased awareness and growing preference for plant-based food. More are either incorporating vegan options into their diet or are becoming flexitarian. yumeat™ wants to help consumers transition to a more sustainable diet. We want to offer more plant-based options for Malaysians, safer, healthier and good for the planet. We can make the world a better place while enjoying quality food,” said Marketing Manager of A. Clouet Co. KL Sdn Bhd, Ms. Teoh Wei Ling.

Get your protein from plants and taste the future of 100% plant-based goodness

Health became a top priority that shapes many lifestyle choices across the generations today. yumeat™ brings more healthy plant-based options with great nutrition value to the table at homes. Made with soy and wheat for guilt-free indulgence, yumeat™ luncheon contains seven times more fibre, 23% less sodium, and 53% less fat than the average meat alternative. yumeat™ products are available in cans, with a long shelf life. All yumeat™ products are cholesterol-free and certified Halal by JAKIM, moreover selected products are high protein. In addition, the products are non-frozen, ready-to-use at any time, with no thawing required compared to most plant-based products available on the market.

Production and quality control is undertaken by Ayam Brand – a household name in the quality canned food sector, ensuring the highest standards of food production and quality. yumeat™ products are also free of hormone, antibiotics, Monosodium glutamate (MSG), Genetically modified organisms (GMO) and any preservatives.

A future of health and eco-consciousness

Plant-based meat is one of the latest solutions to food insecurity issues and the problems caused by the meat industry, and yumeat™ embodies an unwavering focus on responsible food production. All yumeat™ products are made from sustainable ingredients, like soy and wheat, in a factory using renewable solar energy and electronic sensors to eliminate energy waste.

“We know that by 2050 the global population will rise to 10 billion. And climate change remains one of the most concerning topics discussed by the global leaders. yumeat™ believes that one of the most effective ways to reduce our environmental footprint is to look at what we put on our plates. The production of plant-based products requires less water, energy and land resources, and therefore significantly reduces our carbon footprint. We are committed to contributing to the ecosystem by offering a range of plant-based products that are sustainable, versatile and suitable for flexitarians,” said Denis Group CEO, Mr Fabien Reyjal.

Ayam Brand involvement in yumeat™ production and quality assurance ensures socially conscious operations and a steward of nature, measured through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. As a result, the operations will benefit from processes that have been awarded Top Green Company in Asia, and most recently the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Award 2021, SBA Winner in Sustainability Strategy, SBA Significant Achievement in Energy Management and SEAL Environmental Initiative Award.

yumeat™ initial launch in Malaysia include the following products:

1) Plant-based luncheon (360g) – RM11.90. Available in Classic and Chili Flavour, yumeat™ luncheon brings you the charm of simple yet most tantalising cuisine for you and your family.

2) Plant-based minced meat with bean paste (195g) – RM5.80
