Sze Chilli Homemade XO Sauce and Sambal Belacan Sauce S

September 5, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Since the on-set of the pandemic, the livelihoods of many have been badly impacted especially those  employed in the hospitality industry. People have either lost their jobs or surviving on drastically  reduced salaries. Hence, the birth of a new breed of home-based entrepreneurs, be it home-cooked  ready-to-eat meals; homemade snacks, cookies and cakes to mom’s carefully guarded home-made  sauces.

Introducing Sze Chilli, a small start up offering two home-made  sauces based on yes! Mom’s secret recipe and named after the latemom of course. The XO sauce is different from those on the super-hypermarket shelves. This particular sauce is made using ONLY  premium ingredients such as sunflower oil; Japanese anchovies; dried scallop; shredded cuttlefish; shallots; red, birds eye & dried  chillies and dried shrimps. Hours of prep works goes into this sauce  which is freshly cooked every weekend and ready to fulfil orders the  following week.

Next up is the sambal belacan which packed quite a punch being  made purely from birds’ eye and dried chillies, shallots, garlic, dried  shrimp paste, dried shrimps and tamarind juice.

Both sauces are ready-to-eat and extremely versatile. The XO sauce  can be used as a bread spread, mixed thoroughly with noodles, a  definite palate teaser with plain white rice, goes well with steamed  rice roll and a wide variety of dim sum, stirfried noodles and fried  rice, as a dip with anything one can dream of.

Likewise, the sambal belacan is good with nasi lemak if you prefer  not to have the sweet spicy sambal, stirfried your favourite veggies  such as kangkong, sambal petai with prawns and so much more.

• The XO sauce is priced at RM18 for a 100 gm bottle and  RM35 for 200 gm.

• The Sambal Belacan is priced at RM15 for a 100 gm bottle  and RM28 for a 200 gm.

• The Dynamic Duo (one bottle of 200 gm each of Sambal Belacan and XO Sauce) is priced at  RM60.

For Malaysian students travelling soon to further their studies, this will be the most ideal thing to cure  your ‘missing home’ sickness. Both sauces can be double vacuum-packed to be included as part of  your luggage. Keep refrigerated once open and in the freezer for a longer shelf life of up to 6 months.

The Dynamic Duo is ideal as a giveaway too and will be presented with a simple gift box with trimmings at no additional cost.

Delivery charges apply and for every two bottles of 200 gm ordered, delivery charges are capped at  RM10 per destination (or less, depending on the location).

Understanding the difficulties faced by so many during this challenging period, Sze Chilli is contribution  RM1 for every 100 gm jar sold and RM2 for the 200 gm to a food aid cause indefinitely. If you like to place an order, do WhatsApp 016 2011 340 for further details or check-out  https://www.facebook.com/szechilli

Payment can be made either via direct online transfer or via e-wallet. Details will be shared once an order is confirmed
