Isetan KLCC and The Model Cook welcomes Lenswood Pink Lady® apples and its great biting experience as it debuts at the 7th Tasty Australia 2020

September 6, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

One of the world’s most loved apples, the Lenswood Pink Lady® have arrived in Malaysia, making its debut at Isetan KLCC Foodmarket in conjunction with the 7th Tasty Australia 2020.

Apples are among the world’s most popular fruits and are cultivated worldwide. South Australia has a long history of apple growing, starting in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia in the 1860’s. Lenswood Apples is a 100% South Australian owned cooperative that unites generations of farming experience with world-leading innovation to grow Australia’s Finest Apples since 1933. In 1973, Australian plant-breeder, John Cripps, crossed a Golden Delicious and Lady Williams apples to produce the Pink Lady® apple.

The Great Biting Experience
Because of its perfect location in the cool climate growing region of the pristine Adelaide Hills, South Australia and at around 550 meters above sea level, the Lenswood region is an ideal location to grow high coloured, thin skinned, crunchy and juicy Pink Lady® Apples.

Today, the Lenswood Pink Lady® apple is one of the best-known apples. It is the first to blossom and last to be harvested, each one soaking up to 200 days of sunshine. It is this generous time on the tree that gives Pink Lady® its gorgeous, rosy blush. It has a crunchy texture and a tarte taste with a sweet finish; its white flesh is juicy and crisp and offers an effervescent finish.

It has exceptional aromatic richness that offers a great diversity of flavours such as honey, vanilla, rose and spice. As such, the popular apple makes an excellent ingredient in salads, sauces and pies as cooking it only requires minimal sugar. Its skin colour is incomparable, making the recipe beautiful for presentation.

Producing Australia’s Finest Apples
Lenswood Pink Lady® apples are grown with passion and care by Lenswood growers, who are Global GAP accredited and are committed to manage their orchards and surrounding environment in a sustainable manner. It starts with the growers’ passion in the orchard to produce and handpick only the finest quality apples, right down to providing the best service to care, store, pack and market the apple fruits post-harvest.

Lenswood Pink Lady® apples can be recognized with a Lenswood Apples sticker on it as a seal of approval that guarantees its consistent quality and authenticity.

Shane Chisholm, Chief Executive Officer from Lenswood Apples, highlighted the strong commitment to provide an exceptional eating experience for every consumer when they purchase a Lenswood stickered apple.
“It starts with our passionate Lenswood Apple growers nurturing every apple tree in their orchards; from the time they start pruning in July, and all the way through to handpicking the apples around March and April. Once picked, the apples arrive at Lenswood Apples storage, grading and packing facility where our staff manage the apples through every stage, keeping a sharp eye on each of them before the apples end up in a consumer’s mouth.”

“Lenswood Apples has a proud and rich history exporting premium apples around the world including well known varieties Rockit™, Miapple®, Redlove®, Pink Lady® and Gala apples. Apple lovers throughout the world can be assured that when they buy an apple with a Lenswood Apple sticker, they are buying not only a quality apple that has been grown in an environmentally sustainable apple orchard, but an exceptional eating experience.”
