The Mad Hatter’s Dinner Table @ Ruyi & Lyn

July 8, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

Ruyi & Lyn have never disappointed me with their dishes. And this time around, Ruyi surprises us with their first-time collaboration with Mad Hatter Desserts team.

For those who are Mad Hatter Desserts, they are actually founded and run by MasterChef Asia’s 1st runner up, Marcus Low. And Mad Hatter Desserts is actually a patisserie and cafe that serves cakes/entremets & tarts, plated desserts, coffee and drinks.

We started our meal with their Four Treasures which definitely impressed me the most!

Salted Egg Yolk Giant Beansprouts X Buah Keluak
& Lotus Paste Mochi

Beansprout are well battered and deep fried till perfection with the hint of the savory and yet fragrant hint of Salted egg. They are perfectly paired with the buah keluak2 and lotus paste mochi and the buah keluak is not too overpowering and it is just nice.

Lychee Crabmeat Balls x Osmanthus Sphere
& Mangosteen Jelly

The Lychee Crabmeat Balls comes simply interesting where the crabmeat and the lychee gives you with the juicy blend and once a bite, you will get the robust sweetness with the light crabmeat blend. Perfectly good !

Oatmeal Shiso x Tofu Cream and Lychee Tart

Enjoy this delicious and crispy bites of the shiso which is crispy deep fried with light battered and then top with the oatmeal on top. It is paired with the appetizing sweet tofu cream and lychee tart.

Curry Yam Cones X Mini Yam & Pine Nut Gatenx

The curry yam comes with the Spicy blend and you can taste the umami taste of it. Well paired with the cute and icy your and pine nut gatenx which comes impressively good and nice.

Fried Snow Fish Flowers Prawn Paste

The fish is beautifully deep fried till perfection with the prawn paste. It is served with the signature sauce which have a light blend of yuzu in it. The Snow Fish comes awesomely good with the flaky texture as well as packed with the robust flavours.

Peach Sorbet, Umeshu Granita, Peach Resin Jelly,
Poached Pear.

This is sinfully good and addictive. The sorbet comes simply smooth and delicious and they are topped with the kick of the Umeshu. Love the bites of the Perch Resin Jelly and the crispy poached pear.

Seared Foie Gras, Caramelised Watermelon

Enjoy the perfectly seared foie gras that comes simply creamy and melts inthe mouth sensation. The foie gras is topped with the sweet juicy watermelon.

Dark Chocolate Lamb, Chilli Chocolate Sorbet

The Iamb comes simply moist and juicy and the chocolate is not overpowering. When I heard about the dark chocolate with lamb, basically I am a bit sceptical to try them but it is a brave try though. After a bite, it actually amazed me where the lamb comes simply moist and juicy , with no gammy taste but the dark chocolate does not take over the taste of the lamb making the overall taste even perfect and better.

Hall Gali 70% Chocolate Frozen Air,
Yu Fu Ice Cream, Kai Zai Peng Crumb (Chicken Biscuit)

We ended with some childhood or Kampar famous chicken biscuit crumbs which is served with the Hall Gali 70% Chocolate Frozen Air, and the Yu Fu Ice Cream. Bitter sweet blend with the unique touch.

And this wholesome course dinner is priced at ONLY RM 168 per pax and they are available for booking right now. The promotion are available only for 2 days : 19 & 20 September 2019.
