Ang Hoay Lor @ Jalan Gudwara : 50 years of History Hokkien Dishes !

October 23, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Ang Hoay Lor is a  half a century old restaurant situated along Jalan Gurdwara. And the restaurant offers you with wide variety of stir fried dishes that will definitely filled your tummy with delicious food and the overwhelming sense of nostalgia. The restaurant is our favourites since we were kids where mum and dad used to take us here for their fried tang hoon.
Ang Hoay Lor serves authentic Hokkien cuisine bak kee soup (RM 15) or meat paste soup. These are hardly found else where and the Hokkien classic made up of lean tenderlicious meat which are seasoned in starch. Cook in a bowl of soup with the cabbage and white pepper.  The meat are tender and smooth, and the soup comes with the hint of light spiciness.
Another signature here is the Fried Oyster Noodles (RM 24). The Oyster Noodles are topped with the sliced pork, prawns, vegetables and all soaked into the flavourful gravy. Deliciously done !
Next is the Fried Tang Hoon (RM 20) which is one of my favourite.  The fried tang hoon are topped with prawns and sotong ring. Stir fried till perfection with the “wok hei”. The plate of fried tang hoon is so heavenly and it brings more flavourful blend when taken with their spicy sambal.
The stir fried prawns with leek (RM 21) is one of the signature here too. Enjoy the delicious tau kua fried with the big-size prawns and leek.
If you are an oyster lover, a must to try is the fried oyster (RM 22) . Big huge oyster stir fried with the egg. Oh my! Awesome and addictive!
They have loads of good stuff here and for those have not visit them before, is time to head there for an awesome Hokkien Dishes
