FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MALAYSIA, MAGGI BRINGS YOU #THETASTYGOODNESS OF OAT NOODLES IN A FLAVOUR YOU LOVE!

January 26, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Over the years, lifestyles have become more hectic and as much as they love their food, Malaysians have become more conscious about what they eat. According to Malaysian Adults Nutrition Survey (MANS) 2014, almost half of Malaysian adults eat out on a regular basis, mainly because of hectic lifestyles and work schedules. This habit of eating out often means choosing a convenient and unhealthy quick fix over a well-prepared balanced meal.

MAGGI today has an answer to this Malaysian dilemma with the launch of its MAGGI OatMee Noodles. For the first time in Malaysia*, MAGGI introduces a steamed noodles cake made from  51% whole grain oats and 49% high protein wheat sourced from Australia, in the much loved and delicious curry flavour made with 12 authentic spices. It is the only instant noodles that provides 15% of the recommended daily fibre intake for adults; a definite game changer for the Malaysian Instant Noodle market.

The signature MAGGI Curry flavour has been a Malaysian favourite and a market leader since 1971 and it seemed only fitting to launch MAGGI OatMee Noodles with the new Curry Goreng flavour. Now Malaysians can get part of their daily fibre requirement in their much loved curry flavour. Those who place high importance on well-balanced meals can now turn to MAGGI OatMee Noodles, add their favourite fresh ingredients to provide a wholesome meal with minimal preparation time.

Rosalyn Simba, Business Executive Manager of Food, Nestlé Malaysia and Singapore said, “We are very excited about MAGGI OatMee Noodles as they make well-balanced meals a fun and tasty experience. As a mother myself, I understand the dilemma that other mothers face in trying to get their kids to eat a well-balanced meal. I believe that MAGGI OatMee Noodles with its tasty goodness is a win-win for the mom and for their families too.”

Talking about the Nestlé’s vision, Rosalyn Simba continued, “Nestlé is a leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness Company globally. We enhance lives with nutrition and health solutions for all stages of life, helping consumers care for themselves and their families. MAGGI OatMee Noodles puts us well on the way towards fulfilling this vision for the Malaysian market.”

Recognising the importance of fibre in our diet, Ms.Cher Siew Wei, Nestlé’s Corporate Wellness Manager and Mr. Georgen Thye, a Council Member of the Malaysian Dietitians’ Association (MDA) said, “The Malaysian Adults Nutrition Survey 2014 showed that 94% of Malaysian adults did not take adequate fruits and vegetables. The inadequate intake of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and frequent eating out suggesting that Malaysians are not getting enough dietary fibre from their diet. As per one of the research it was found that the mean fibre intake among Malaysians is only about 13g – 16g, which does not meet the national population intake goal of 20g – 30g a day. Dietary fibre is crucial for maintaining good health, hence there is an urgent need to make fibre intake more relevant and easy.”

MAGGI OatMee Noodles has taken upon itself to transform the goodness of one bowl of oats into an irresistible meal, successfully providing consumers with a new exciting way to have a wholesome meal. Each serving provides 15% of the recommended daily fibre intake which everyone now can enjoy the benefits and goodness of oats along with the much loved, delicious MAGGI curry goreng flavour.
