The Cosmopolitan Hotel Hong Kong Is Now Officially Rebranded As Dorsett Wanchai Hong Kong

November 7, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Marco Polo German Bierfest 2016 is officially open! From today until 12 November, Marco Polo German Bierfest 2016 will be held at the Viewing Platform of Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel. Marco Polo’s highly anticipated signature Hong Kong event has been an annual highlight of entertainment calendars for residents and visitors alike for the past 24 years.

On 17 October, media and VIP guests were invited to experience the Bierfest at a private party. Guests of honour, including Dr. Jennifer Cronin, President of Marco Polo Hotels, Mr. Thomas Salg, General Manager of Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong, Mr. Raymond Chan, Director of Restaurants, Bars and Events of Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong, Ms. Cyrina Chan, Director of Events of Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong, Mr. Andreas Binder, President & CEO, Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Limited, Mr. David Gan, Sales Director – On Trade, Carlsberg Hong Kong Limited, Mr. Stefan Goehmann, Commerzbank AG, Director, Senior Relationship Manager Hong Kong, Macau and Mr. Malte Haut, Lufthansa German Airlines, General Manager, Hong Kong, South China & Macau, were on stage to officiate the traditional sausage cutting ceremony.

On Wednesday 26 October, a Silver Jubilee Bus Parade was held to celebrate the Bierfest’s 25th anniversary. An open-top double-decker bus cruised along Tsim Sha Tsui in the evening. The Notenhobler Band from Germany played classic songs along the way.

During the Bierfest, between 21 October and 12 November, every participant is given a lucky draw ticket at the venue entrance. The grand prize winner will receive a Lehmann Watch (Wonderland Watch Special Edition) valued at HK$55,000. To celebrate the Silver Jubilee, a special limited-edition giant beer combo is also offered every night. Beer lovers can enjoy a 1-litre beer mug filled with quality beer – and they can keep the giant beer mug when they finish as a souvenir. Priced at HK$250 and with only 25 sets available daily, the giant beer combo is accompanied by two pretzels and a Bierfest pin. Other food and beverage recommendations at the event include crispy Roast pork knuckle served with braised red cabbage and gratinated potato and tasty Pan-fried sausages “Nürnberger” style with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.

The world-famous German brewery ERDINGER Weissbräu has been creating superb wheat beer for 130 years. Four types of beer are available at Marco Polo German Bierfest, including Erdinger Weissbier with citrusy notes and a fresh, clean aftertaste, and the full-bodied Erdinger Dunkel. Marco Polo German Bierfest will be the only venue in Hong Kong serving Fischer’s Stiftungsbräu Helles Lager, renowned for its clean malt flavours. There will also be limited quantities of the special edition Erdinger Oktoberfest, with a rich gold colour and seasonal fruit notes, which is produced once a year for the festival, ensuring guests enjoy a genuine Oktoberfest vibe in Hong Kong.

The Notenhobler Band from Germany is the official band of Marco Polo German Bierfest. The fun-loving musicians dressed in original Oberkrainer clothes sing traditional tunes and hearty folk music. They also play traditional Bierfest games contributing to the truly memorable ambience.

Marco Polo German Bierfest 2016 will be held until 12 November at the Viewing Platform on Level 6 of Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, between 6pm and 11pm.
