Marco Polo Signatures – Reuben Sandwich and Classic Mojito

February 24, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Have your ever tried a signature sandwich crafted by a hotel General Manager? Mr. James McStay Ong, General Manager of Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong, presents his favourite Reuben sandwich and classic Mojito at three Marco Polo hotels in Hong Kong.
Originated in Omaha during the 1920s, the Reuben sandwich quickly became a popular comfort food throughout the USA. Mr. James Ong, General Manager of Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong, began his hospitality career in the United States and has continued the tradition of serving his favourite sandwich in all the different countries he has lived in since. His Reuben sandwich won first place in the Signature Dish Cooking Competition among the well-presented dishes by Marco Polo General Managers during the Marco Polo’s General Managers’ Conference 2015.
“It takes minutes to make but a lifetime to master. With 14 March marked as the official Reuben Sandwich Day in Omaha, I am happy to bring this hearty signature to Hong Kong and present our guests the finest Reuben sandwich in all outlets at Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong”, says Mr. James Ong.
The Signature Rueben sandwich features two slices of fresh-baked rye bread filled with a generous helping of thinly sliced corned beef brisket, Gruyère cheese, refreshing sauerkraut and homemade creamy Russian dressing. A crunchy deli pickle and waffle-cut potato fries are served alongside the hearty sandwich. The perfect drink to accompany the Reuben is the classic Mojito, with silver rum, lime, sugar, fresh mint and club soda. Try both these Marco Polo Signatures on your next visit to Marco Polo Hotels – Hong Kong.
