ONE WORLD HOTEL’S WINNING STREAK CONTINUES

One World Hotel announced that it has been honoured with another prestigious International Star Award for Quality at the recent Business Initiative Direction (B.I.D.) Quality Convention. The elegant black tie affair was held at the InterContinental Geneva Convention Hall, Switzerland on the 20th September 2015.

Recognised for Commitment to Quality, Leadership, Technology and Innovation, One World’s Director of Conventions and Events, Ms Shona Pang received the prize in the Platinum Category on behalf of the hotel. The award acknowledges strong commitment to quality and excellence.

The event for the presentation of awards to various companies and organisations from 49 countries around the globe to acknowledge their achievements in Quality and Excellence presided over by the President and CEO, Mr Jose E. Prieto. Also present at the award presentation were remarkable business leaders from different business fields, professionals from outstanding companies and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

“The award recipients are icons of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation, making them models for others in their sectors,” said Mr Jose E. Prieto.

Founded in 1986 and based in Madrid, Spain, the B.I.D organises International Quality Conventions yearly in London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Madrid, Paris, Moscow and New York and 8 different awards and trophies are presented in each city to recognise the success of the awarded company. The International Star for Quality Award comprising Gold, Platinum and Diamond categories were participated by both international and multinational companies (some are listed in the Global Fortune 500) as well as business leaders from 179 countries. The awards based on established criteria of the QC100 TQM (Total Quality Management model), in which the contents serve as guidelines for continuous quality improvement to achieve goals and set a precedent for the rest of the business community focusing from ‘Customer Satisfaction Culture’ to ‘Business Results Awareness’. QC100 refers to Quality Commitment to the 100 points of quality contained in the model, which are divided into 10 areas covering all of the levels of company operation.

“We are excited and honoured to receive the prestigious accolade from BID for the second time in the last 2 years, let alone platinum, is a testament to the organisation’s growth and ability to deliver world-class facilities and service standards. I am indeed very proud of our achievement this year. In 2013, One World received the first International Star for Leadership in Quality Award in the Gold Category. This award represents global recognition in the hospitality industry. One World Hotel has undoubtedly earned its reputation as a leading independent hotel in Malaysia,” said Ho Hoy Sum, the general manager of One World Hotel Petaling Jaya.

The award would not be possible without the hotel’s team effort in working towards a continuous improvement of processes, products and services, which are also part of the QC100 fundamentals“, added Ho Hoy Sum.
