CHEF MICHAEL CHEW – EXECUTIVE CHEF @ ONE WORLD HOTEL

October 18, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Michael Chew, as our new Executive Chef. In his new role, he will oversee the entire Food and Beverage’s kitchen operation for One World Hotel Petaling Jaya. We are excited to welcome him to this new corporate position as we continue to grow hence, please join us in congratulating him on this appointment.

Chef Michael has been in the hospitality industry for over two decades and this talented Malaysian born chef was appointed as Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant and Banquet Chinese Chef in year 2009; prior to his new role, to bring new dimension to the hotel’s signature restaurants, banquet and catering facilities.

He began his career at a well known independent restaurant as Commis and it took him 3 years before he was appointed as Chef De Partie at the Royal Selangor Club. Then, he ventured into the Hospitality industry in Brunei before he returned to Malaysia in year 1994, and joined The Legend Hotel KL as Banquet Chef, overseeing the operation matters in the banquet kitchen.

Thereafter, he chanced upon the opportunity to work in Germany as 1st Wok in an independent Chinese Restaurant. With his vast experience garnered from the different countries he has worked, he took on the challenge at Hilton KL to oversee the opening of the Chinese restaurant, and later at the Palace Of The Golden Horses, before joining Hilton Hefei Hotel, China.
Having years of experience as a Chef who specialises in authentic Chinese cuisine, he is also passionate about Asian Cuisine like Thai, Malay and Nyonya dishes.  The opportunity to travel and work across the globe has proved to be a great learning experience for him and contributed to his ability to inject unique touches to his menus and created many creative dishes for the organisations that he has served.
