ISLAND SHANGRI-LA, HONG KONG PRESENTS A MERRY HOLIDAY SEASON WITH “MCMUG THE RED-NOSED REINDEER” AND A MYRIAD OF FESTIVE ACTIVITIES

This festive season, Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong has prepared a myriad of celebratory activities,including a charity sale of the McMug plush speaker, themed countdown parties, as well asa dazzling selection of dining offers, gourmet hampers and holiday gifts.

Limited-edition “McMug the Red-nosed Reindeer” 
Mini Speaker Charity SaleFollowing the success of last year’s McDull Christmas Tree, Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong has once again worked with local illustrator Alice Mak to create another piggy sensation with McDull’s best friend – McMug, who has transformed into a plush red-nosed reindeer bearing gifts and a candy cane.  Concealed inside the lovely “McMug the Red-nosed Reindeer” is a mini speaker that is ideal for playing Christmas tunes on festive occasions.

Available from late November at the lobby festive counter and all restaurants of Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong, the “McMug the Red-nosed Reindeer” mini speaker is priced at HK$180 each.  Guests can also send this perfect Christmas gift to friends and family through the online purchase platform at www.islandshangrilapromotion.com.  Proceeds from the sale will go directly to the hotel’s charity partner, Heep Hong Society – one of Hong Kong’s largest service providers of early intervention and education for children with autism and specific learning difficulties.

Themed Countdown Parties
On New Year’s Eve, guests can bid a fond farewell to 2014 in one of these themed parties:
Restaurant Petrus – Glitter and Gold
Gala dinner HK$4,288 per person (six courses)
With the spherical gleam of glitter and gold at Restaurant Petrus, guests will be dazzled by the luxurious and shimmering atmosphere complemented by stunning views of the city’s glistening skyscrapers as they indulge in an extravagant six-course dinner menu.

Lobster Bar and Grill – The Great Gatsby
Gala dinner
First sitting (6 to 8:30 p.m.) : HK$1,888 per person (four courses)
Second sitting (from 8:30 p.m. onwards): HK$2,988 per person (six courses with a glass of champagne)
Countdown party (from 11 p.m. onwards): Minimum food or beverage consumption of HK$500 per person
Guests can experience the glamour of the roaring ‘20s at Lobster Bar and Grill this New Year’s Eve.  They can revel in an enchanting atmosphere with live band performances while enjoying the six-course dinner menu and a countdown party, Gatsby style.

Lobby Lounge – Shanghai Glam

This New Year’s Eve, guests can relive the grandiose era of old Shanghai at Lobby Lounge.  They will be charmed by a modernised Chinese setting that evokes the atmosphere of the city’s golden age in the 1930s with live music performances as they countdown to the start of a new year over a six-course dinner.
