GUAN HEONG BISCUIT SHOP @ IPOH: A PORKLICIOUS MOONCAKE

August 29, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

If you are looking for something non-halal for this mooncake festival, its time to head to Guan Heong Biscuit in Ipoh. The traditional pastry shop which brings you all kind of biscuits where they are all home made! The traditional biscuit shop serves a variety of biscuits. With a long history of business which had set up back in 1918; it had become one of the famous biscuit shop here in Ipoh.

Guan Heong has a long list of products but they are particularly famous for their Floss Biscuits. Besides Floss Biscuits, they do have the unique mooncake which are the Teowchew and Hokkien Mooncakes. But, as time evolves, now you can find more choices of mooncake available and what’s more they have a non-halal mooncake which brings me to the excitment.

This year, they come up with two choices of mooncake where one attracted me is their Bak Kua mooncake. The lotus paste comes with the big jerky chinese BBQ meat which comes to our favorite. The lotus paste together with the jerky bbq meat makes a savory blend with the combination of the mooncake. The taste is indeed a good one which I had to give a double thumb up.

Aside from the porky delights, they also have the huge mooncake too where it has 7 yolks with it; the savory mooncake can be shared among family members . The mooncakes comes delightly good which I would say it is one of my favorites.
