FOODPANDA CELEBRATES ITS SECOND YEAR OF SUCCESS IN MALAYSIA

July 10, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

foodpanda Malaysia, an international food ordering and delivery service provider headquartered in Berlin, Germany today announced its successful collaboration with more than 500 eateries around Malaysia.

Though only two years in operations, foodpanda Malaysia has expanded its business network from over 40 restaurants when it first started, to 580 restaurants across Peninsular Malaysia to date. The company also reported a five-fold revenue growth from 2013.

foodpanda Malaysia has established its presence in major cities around Peninsular Malaysia such as Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang, Ipoh, Melaka and Johor Bahru. The company is also looking towards expanding its operations to East Malaysia i.e major cities in Sabah and Sarawak by the end of next year. With the expansion of its business operations to East Malaysia, foodpanda aims to be the biggest food delivery service provider in Malaysia.

Apart from Malaysia, foodpanda has also recently set foot in Brunei in offering their service to 20 restaurants and eateries there. Among them include KFC, Burger King, Pappa Rich, Fish & Co and others.

“We are confident of sustaining our business here as well as revolutionizing the food ordering and delivery service through our unconventional approach. Food ordering can now be done conveniently using our mobile app and at an affordable fee,” said Claudio Abitante, Managing Director of foodpanda Malaysia. “We look forward to expanding our partnership with more restaurant owners and we also hope to establish our network of delivery service to cover all parts of Malaysia. Our recent partnership with Chaswood Resources has opened up an even wider selection of food choices for our customers to enjoy”, added Abitante.
Chaswood Resources Sdn Bhd (Chaswood Resources) has recently signed on foodpanda Malaysia as its exclusive food delivery service provider for their restaurants TGI Fridays, Italiannies, The Apartment, Malones, Bulgogi Brothers, Watami and Teh Tarik Place.

“Chaswood’s diverse portfolio of brands brings a new host of international flavors for foodpanda customers. Reversely our collaboration with foodpanda Malaysia offers our customers an extra channel for them to enjoy food from our restaurants at their convenience with food delivered right to their doorstep. foodpanda’s ordering and delivery service is also fuss-free, efficient and systematic especially with the launch of its latest mobile application, which makes ordering food convenient for our customers,” said Raymond Liew, Marketing Director of Chaswood Resources.

Among other major restaurants and eateries under foodpanda Malaysia’s delivery service are Din Tai Fung, Kenny Rogers Roasters, Wendy’s, Starbucks, Gongcha, Chatime and Tony Roma’s.

foodpanda Malaysia charges only RM4 for delivery and at times complimentary when ordering food from selected restaurants while maintaining the price of the food items. foodpanda Malaysia delivers not only from major restaurants and eateries but also from Bazaar Ramadhan and popular street food. In conjunction with its 2nd Anniversary celebration, foodpanda Malaysia is offering free delivery on the 10th of July 2014 for the 500+ restaurants which it delivers for, Bazaar Ramadhan and 7Eleven.

Apart from partnering eateries, foodpanda Malaysia also collaborated with 7-Eleven in offering delivery service of snacks, beverages and even prepaid reload cards to customers in the Klang Valley, Ipoh, Melaka Johor Bahru and Penang.

foodpanda Malaysia’s food ordering and delivery service is available via its website foodpanda.my or its mobile application which is available on all major mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows, Nokia X and Asha. foodpanda’s mobile app is currently the leading global mobile online food ordering app in the market.
