DINE FIT FOR A KING FOR MIGF 2013 IN DYNASTY RESTAURANT, RENAISANCE HOTEL KL

October 4, 2013 By StrawberrY Gal - Invited Review Leave a Comment

October is the month to tantalise your taste buds! What better place to do this than at the most exciting gastronomic event of the year – the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) from 1 to 31 October 2013? At Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel, diners will discover a delicious dining experience at participating restaurants – Dynasty (Non-halal) and Sagano. Be sure to visit these restaurants to savour delicately prepared and beautifully presented authentic Cantonese fare whilst the enticing aromas of Japan’s best flavours will engulf your senses at Sagano. Dynasty Restaurant is always my favorite restaurant and being there for their MIGF menu is always my pleasure.

MIGF

At Dynasty Restaurant, Executive Sous Chef Kok Chee Kin will amaze diners with a Festival Menu that captures the finest flavours of Cantonese cuisine. With over 20-years’ experience in the culinary arts, Chef Kin and his team are all set to delight the connoisseurs of fine Cantonese cuisine. For his Festival Menu, the creative Chef Chee Kin will delight diners with a 4-course menu consisting of eight dishes of diverse flavours, such as lobster bisque, pan-seared wagyu beef and sautéed cod fillet.

This round, we had tried the partial of the MIGF menu instead of the full menu as we are making some ways for Sagano.

MIGF
Started with the appetizers with the beautifully presented three petite size delights, we tried the Chilled-braised mini whole abalone ( 冰镇原只小鲍鱼 ) , Chilli coral clam in brown sauce (蚝皇辣汁珊瑚蚌) and Poached crab claw, melon ring scallop (蟹钳干贝白玉环) . the Chilled-braised mini whole abalone ( 冰镇原只小鲍鱼 ) brings up the whole taste of the fresh abalone with the superb taste and it is well paired with the tangy cooling jelly, It is just superbly made which I love the most. As for the chili coral clam in brown sauce, it is well served as it is and it brings a light spiciness in it. The delights is well match with the brown sauce itself. Poached crab claw, melon ring scallop is indeed one of the suprises over the meals. Fresh crab claws and beneath the melon rings, it s infused with the delicious scallops in it. Just perfectly done and melted my heart with it. The dining is served with the Hunter’s Marlborough Pinot Noir wine originated from New Zealand. It brings the pure strawberry, some raspberry and a hint of blueberry scents come to effect which is just a good match with the appetizers.

MIGF

As for the soup, it brings us with the soothing taste which just perfect to warm our tummy for the next upcoming dishes. Nutritious soup with the Lobster bisque, ocean treasure, bird nest & truffle (黑松燕窝海味龙虾汤) just perfect and it is just worth for the money. The soup is one of my favorite with the goodness in it as well as it is which is filled with the goody goodness ingredient. Refreshing soup with the superb ingredient with the add of the bird nest and truffle in the soup had made it perfect.

MIGF
We ended with the Pan-seared wagyu beef, wild mushroom reduction with the Roulade of duck & glutinous rice (松茸香煎和牛粒拼糯米香酥火鸭卷) . The wagyu beef is amazing, well prepared and pan seared with the wild mushroom induction. The beef was so tender and juicy and each cut of the beef just gives us a great sensation taste. Served together is the Roulade of duck and glutinous rice which is just a superb combination too.The duck me were succulent, tender and juicy which I love the most.
