CHATIME MALAYSIA ANNOUNCES 100 OUTLETS MILESTONE

July 14, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

Chatime Malaysia – the number 1 local market leader in the modern tea industry, today celebrates the opening of its latest outlet, solidifying their foothold with 100 stores in Malaysia. Collectively, Chatime has now achieved 1000 outlets across the globe.

Chatime’s meteoric rise in the Malaysian market has revolutionized and modernized the way Malaysians consume tea. Currently, it is one of the nation’s largest beverage brands with an extensive network in the country since its inception in August 2010. “Our goal is to bring Chatime to everyone. Malaysians continue to love us, and we will continue to give them the best we have. We target to increase our presence at high traffic areas where more tea-drinkers will have access to our beverages.

Chatime Malaysia is committed to ensuring everyone will have nationwide access to a Chatime outlet, so that we will have an opportunity to delight many more Malaysians daily. In line with our goal, we hope to achieve 250 outlets and further diversify our range products and offerings to make Chatime a household name in the next five years,” said Bryan Loo, CEO of Chatime Malaysia.

Dubbed as the pioneer in creating the modern tea craze among the locals, especially the youth, Chatime tea culture has taken the country by storm, and with strong support from them and its Taiwan principal, the top beverage brand pledges to continuously innovate on its products and brewing methods in order to add varieTEA to Malaysian lives as the most trusted lifestyle tea brand. “We also constantly strive to make each cup of tea a personal experience for our customers. Our brewed tea is localized to suit Malaysian taste, and drinks are also customized according to individual preference,” added Loo.

STRONG ARTEASTIC SUPPORT

Chatime Malaysia has managed to shift consumer sentiments towards the consumption of lifestyle tea, and is committed to support local art initiatives along with Chatime’s expansion plans in the country. Thus far, the brand has extended its support by featuring local designs on the Chatime Thirstea Card, featuring art performances and talks across selected Chatime Galleria outlets, and supporting youth-run community projects like RockCorps Malaysia charity events. Their latest initiative is the Chatime Friends Programme, a one-of-a-kind initiative in Malaysia to support and promote budding talents involved across all forms and categories of the arts. Award-winning young actress Crystal Lee is the first to be chosen.

Loo further commented: “Chatime now has the opportunity to play a key role in supporting and promoting the talents of the local art community. We resonate well with the art community as we also understand how it was to grow from a small communiTEA to being one of the largest in Malaysia. By providing an avenue to promote their masterpieces at our selected high traffic stores, we aim to help display their talents as far and wide as possible.”

Now with 100 outlets, Chatime Malaysia is in a prominent position to do more for the arts with its nationwide reach. Along with this achievement, it will act as the main sponsor for its biggest art collaboration to date: the Makanlah Buah-Buahan Tempatan (MB-BT) Exhibition ’13 – an initiative curated by Little Ideas Everyday (L.I.E) to promote local art and local fruit appreciation in the country. The exhibition features 40 internationally known Malaysian artists and designers, and will be held from 12 – 14 July 2013, 10am – 10pm at Publika, Solaris Dutamas.

ACTIVITEAS FOR THE OCCASION

In conjunction with its 100 outlets milestone, Chatime will be rolling out several activities. The first is the launch of its FruiTea Fuel Up! series – four brand new delightful flavours, created based on the requests and preferences of fans nationwide: Pear Juice, Pear Fruit Green Tea, Honeydew Milk Tea, and Honeydew Smootea. The new additions are available from 12 July 2013. On the same day, the first 100 Chatime Thirstea members at each of the 100 outlets will receive 100 BPoints on their Thirstea Card. This awarding of 1 million points in total is courtesy of BCard.

From 20 July 2013, Chatime will be having a celebratory roadshow at selected outlets, where there will be free drink giveaways to the first 100 customers, and lucky draws for a chance to win smartphones, goodies and merchandise, as well as 100 BPoints, while local CelebriTeas are set to be a part of the roadshow. Roadshow contributions are sponsored by U Mobile, BCard and ChurpChurp as partners of the 100 outlets celebration. Regular updates will be posted on Chatime Malaysia’s FB page (http://www.facebook.com/chatimemalaysia).
