KFC LAUNCHES THE ‘SO HOT, SO KOREAN’ SPICY KOREAN BURGER

May 17, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

KFC Malaysia has created another Korean masterpiece which comes in the form of a burger. Introducing the Spicy Korean Burger, set to bring out the Korean star in everyone! Featuring a blend of seven chilies from around the world and a special spicy Korean glaze, the burger will provide customers, especially the youth, an unforgettable burger experience!

“The current Korean wave and the amazing feedback on the Spicy Korean Crunch have inspired us to create this special burger sensation. The Spicy Korean Burger will give you a chance to experiment with the different offerings from KFC. The youth and young adults who are always on the go will surely love this latest addition, as well as those with adventurous taste-buds and not forgetting Korean fanatics”, said Datuk Ahmad Zaki Zahid, Managing Director of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd, operator of KFC Malaysia at the launch of the product at KFC Pavilion.

The key to what makes this burger so special is the tingling spiciness of the crispy chicken fillet, coupled with its mouth-watering glaze. These ‘stars’ are then sandwiched in between KFC’s burger bun, fresh lettuce and cheese. Burger lovers who crave for more spice will definitely get what they bargain for in every bite of the Spicy Korean Burger.

Well known over the years for their Original Recipe and Hot & Spicy fried chicken, KFC is no stranger when it comes to chicken burgers. From the truly classic all-time favorite Colonel Burger to the ever popular and well-loved Zinger (now available in three versions), customers can expect much more from KFC as they are always on the lookout for what’s hot and what’s trending as sources of inspiration.
The Spicy Korean Burger is poised to add more choices to KFC’s already colourful burger range, thus bringing up its reputation as a restaurant that serves more than just fried chicken.  With the tagline ‘So Hot, So Korean’, this burger is a must taste for all burger enthusiasts!
In line with the promotion, KFC is offering the Spicy Korean Burger in a combo priced at RM11.55, or ala-carte at RM8.20. The combo is inclusive of one regular Cheezy Wedges and one regular carbonated drink. For those looking for a bigger eat, KFC also introduces the Spicy Korean Burger in its Ultimate Hot Box range which includes one piece of Spicy Korean Burger, one piece of chicken, one regular Cheezy wedges and one regular carbonated drink all at RM13.35.

The advertising and promotion for the KFC Spicy Korean Burger includes TV commercial, online and ground activation for a wider reach to customers. In line with the burger promotion, KFC will be having a Korean song contest. To enter, just upload a video of you or your crew doing a Korean song to the contest tab in KFC Facebook App page. Share the video with your Facebook network and gather as much “likes” as possible. The top 10 videos with the most likes will make it to the finals. This contest will start at the end of this month and those interested can follow KFC Malaysia’s Facebook page for more updates.  You can start practising your vocals now because the grand prize winner will be flown on a 6 days 4 nights trip to South Korea!
KFC’s Spicy Korean Burger is now available at all KFC restaurants in the country for a limited duration of two months, starting from 14th May 2013, while stocks last.
