CHINESE NEW YEAR DINNER AT THE EMPEROR, GRAND DORSETT SUBANG

January 29, 2013 by StrawberrY Gal

– The Inside View-
– The Chef-

Chinese New Year is coming soon in just less than 3 weeks. It is time again to gather with family members as well as friends for a reunion dinner. The Emperor, Grand Dorsett  Subang  is one of the restaurants which offer a pork free choice of CNY meals where you can enjoy them with your Malay friends.

– Prosperity “Yee Sang” with Salmon Fish and Korean Pear-

– Prosperity “Yee Sang” with Salmon Fish and Korean Pear-

This year, Grand Dorsett Subang offers the  Prosperity “Yee Sang” with Salmon Fish and Korean Pear (七彩雪梨三文鱼生) where the yee sang is being served together with the fresh salmon fish and the specialty of it is the Golden Crispy Fish Crackers where the being minced and then it is being marinated. It is then being deep fried again to give the crispy fish crackers which is crunchy and lovely. The yee sang is added with sesame, pomelo and more. It gives the traditional blend of yee sang which is good.

– Double-Boil Cordyceps Flower with Dried Scallops and Black Chicken-

– Double-Boil Cordyceps Flower with Dried Scallops and Black Chicken-

Coming next is the healthy blend which is the Double-Boil Cordyceps Flower with Dried Scallops and Black Chicken (蟲草花干贝炖烏鸡). The soup is very nutritious with the sweetness which comes with the scallops and the black chicken. The nutritious soup with the cordyceps are originated from Taiwan which is served together with it makes me feel like I am having a home cook food now and it is simply delicious.

Roasted Crispy Chicken with “Ma Lat’ Sauce (麻辣脆皮烧鸡) is the next item which is being served to the table. Chef had prepared the “Ma Lat” sauce with his own secret recipes and the chicken is being roasted till golden brown. It is simply good where the dish gives a light spiciness which comes with it and the chicken meat which is being served is also tender.

Steamed Red Snapper with Golden Garlic and Superior Soya Sauce (金蒜港式蒸红鸡鱼) is one my favorite where the fish is fresh. The sauce which is well blended by the Chef makes the dish even more perfect and delicious as well. The sauce which is served with the red snapper brings up the blend of sweetness and it is simply delicious.

Wok-Fried Fresh Tiger Prawns with Salted Egg Sauce (紫菜鹹蛋鲜草虾) is something special to dine off as well where the tiger prawns which is being served with the salted egg sauce is alos being added with the thinly sliced seaweed together with it. With the seaweed added with it, the dish is simply good with the great blend of both salted egg and also the seaweed.

-Braised Dried Oyster, Sea moss in Money Bag with Green Garden-

Braised Dried Oyster, Sea moss in Money Bag with Green Garden (蚝士发菜金钱袋時蔬) is another specialty from the chef. This is where chef prepared the delights where you can find carrot, mushroom as well as the dried oyster inside the inari skin. It is very tasty and special combination of the meal.

Steamed White Rice, Glutinous Rice with Assorted Preserved Meat in Lotus Leaf (鶯鴦什錦臘味荷叶饭) ended our mains. Well made rice delights with the assorted preserved meat in Lotus Leaf filled our tummy before we heads for desserts.

– The Desserts-

– The Desserts-

– Chilled Mango Puree with Mixed Fruit-

Chilled Mango Puree with Mixed Fruit (什果楊枝甘玉露) is the one of the desserts we sampled. The golden desserts are filled with mango puree, cut cube mango, pomelo as well as strawberry and sago with it. The desserts is not too sweet and it is really soothing as well.

We ended with the Deep-Fried Chinese New Year Cake with Glutinous Dumpling “Shanghai” Style (香脆年糕拼芝麻雷沙汤丸). This is where we are served with the Nian Gao with the yam and sweet potato which is being wrapped and deep fried. As for the glutinous dumplings, it is being stuffed with the black sesame and being wrapped with the glutinous dumpling. It is then being added with grated peanut on top makes it even prefect.
And now Grand Dorsett have their CNY menu from RM 1,088.00 onwards till RM 1888.00
