FRESHLY LAUNCHED A LA CARTE MENU AT TOH YUEN CHINESE RESTAURANT, HILTON PJ

Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant at Hilton PJ explores the authenticit of the Chinese Cuisine with a local, personal touch by crafting an extensive ala carte menu from recipies from China as well as the restaurant’s all time favorites. The restaurant is beautiful designed with 4 private dining room is simply beautiful. Master Chef Lee is retaining his concepts which is healthy menu where the dining will be emphasizing the fresh ingredients and Chinese herbs. He, however has added something new by introducing the traditional fare to the local food lovers as a result of his fruitful travel and culinary learning in China. To get the best out of the taste, Chef Lee also keeps the natural flavours and refrains from using artificial preservatives and addictives in the food.

Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with Garlic & Chicken Floss ( 炸香脆鸡松软壳蟹), one of the appetizers which is being served for the night. The fresh soft shell crabs is being deep fried together with the garlic and chicken floss is really lovely and appetizing. The soft shell crab is well selected and every munch which bring us the crispiness with the aromatic of garlic with it. It taste even better with the crispy and slight salty chicken floss topped with it and the dish is one of my favorites.

– The appetizing Chilled Pacific Clam with Salsa-

Next comes the Chilled Pacific Clam with Salsa (莎莎珍珠鲍贝) where the cold dish is well capturing my attention. This is where the imported pacific clams are sitting atop a bed of “salsa” is very appetizing and the taste is cool and a slight soury taste.

Deep Fried Lamb with Cumin & Dried Chili (茴香酥辣炸羊肉粒) is well served with a light spiciness. The lamb is much mouthwatering and the meat is being marinated with the spices and it is then being deep fried to crispy cubes. The dish is added with the spices and peppercones to balance up the overall taste is really appetizing.

After the appetizers, we had the Soup delights next. Double Boiled Village Chicken with “Chong Cao Hua” (Cordyceps) Soup (虫草花清炖土鸡) is very rich with the nutrients . The healthy soup is making me felt the taste back at home and the soup is full of the taste of cordyceps. If you are a cordyceps lovers, it would be your favorite and the herbal taste of the soup is quite strong.

If you are not a cordyceps lover and not really in love with the smell of cordyceps, you may considered to taste the Double Boiled Chicken with “Shi Hu” Soup (石斛麦冬炖野鸡) which is good to clear heat and regenerate fludis as well. With the Shi Hu, it is also very good in nourish stomach yin and not to forget it is good to brighten the vision and strenghten the lower back. The soup is really good and the taste is nice and nourishing as well.

– The Braised Sea Cucumber with Flower Mushroom & Abalone Sauce-

Here comes the main dishes where we are being served with 8 types of Chinese Dishes. We started off with the Braised Sea Cucumber with Flower Mushroom & Abalone Sauce (鲍汁白花菇烩海参).The dish is nothing special as it is mostly being served in wedding dinners but i love Toh Yuen one more. The reason being is the sea cucumber is fat and the taste is juicy and very tangy as well. It is well cooked and the sauce goes well with it too. Besides, the mushroom is also taste good which is tangy and juicy and it can be seen that the mushroom is a better quality mushrooms in the market.

– The Steamed Canadian Cod Fish “Yu Feng” Ginger Sauce-

Steamed Canadian Black Cod Fish with “Yu Feng” Ginger Sauce(加拿大银鳕鱼清蒸渝风酥姜风味)is where the thick cur of the succulent black cod fish is very fresha and it is being steamed and topped with the “Yu Feng” ginger mix on top. The dish is much recomended and I am being a fish lover, it is one of my favorites where the fresh fish fillet is well steamed and the texture is juicy, smooth and flaky texture. I would say it is easily eaten where there is no bones and each mouthful is really lovely and great.

– Sauteed Fresh Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk-

Sautéed Fresh Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk(黄金炒鲜虾球) the next dish we had. The fresh big prawns is really appetizing and it is being sauteed and coated with the salted egg yolk. The dish is amazingly done where the paste of the salted egg yolk is thick and creamy and also very rich. It is well made and very mouthwatering which I love the most.
Price: RM 50.00

Smoked duck with fruit sauce(果酱酥炸烟熏鸭) is one of my favorite for the night. The duck meat is well being deep fried and it is topped with the dragon fruit sauce. The taste reminding me of having bacon more than the duck and it is simply nice and delighting. The juiciness of the duck meat with a light fragrant is bursting in my mouth with the sweetness and the combination of fruits is really flavorful.

Next in line is the Sauteed Venison Slice with Chinese Croissants and Cummin(孜然油条炒鹿肉). The dish is served in hot pot with a light spices and the meat is simply tender and appetizing. It is not too spicy and I love the dish where it is well made and the meat is chewy and a light spiciness is making me falling in love with it.

– Sauteed “Gong Bao” Vegetable Chicken with Yam Ring-

Some treasures is coming and here they are which is the Sautéed “Gong Bao” Vegetable Chicken with Yam Ring(素佛钵炒宫保鸡丁). The portion is beautifully served inside the yam ring. There, you can find plentiful of nuts, beans, vege and chicken in it. The overall taste of it simply good and lovely though.

We ended our meals with the sweet delights which is the Deep Fried Banana with Strawberry & Cheese Cake (酥脆香蕉芝士蛋糕).The desserts is well made and it does surprise me too where I can find some banans and strawberry in it.
